I agree with Polson's last post. There have been those who have made a stink about political and religious discussions at the Outpost for as long as I've been coming here. In four years though, nothing has changed... we still talk politics and religion whenever it comes up. I don't think banning threads or adding a rule against them in the chats will solve anything. There will always be another thread, another post, another instance in which we're drawn right back into it. The more you come down on it, the more we'll want it.
I've enjoyed reading this thread. And if betting is still open, I think this thread will fizzle out after this weekend and get itself forgotten about within a week. It's easier to remember the bitterness of arguments than lessons such as this.

I don't mind if someone prays for my soul even if I don't believe in their beliefs -- it's nice to know someone is thinking about you no matter what god or gods they worship  All I ask is their prayer be an honest one.

Instead of blanket-banning anything interesting and contentious, perhaps we should prevent the people who cannot hold a civil debate from participating?
Someone should even write an SOP on such a thing.
Oh wait, that's my job. 
Just give me the word, you important, high-ranking people.

Let me just say that I only read these threads once every few weeks, and when I spend like twenty minutes reading through the juicy ones like these I expect a bit of drama, claws, name calling, etc. at the end. Then there should be a padlock someplace, because it all got out of hand. Sometimes reading these forums is like getting half way through a good book and dropping the book into a deep hole from whence it will never return. All I want is a bit of drama with resolution at the end here people... is that too much to ask?
And Tanyanka is right... back to the original topic. I have to say I can't tolerate Sushi or PV. Both are quite intolerable.

I nearly tried sushi once, then it occurred to me that if I didn't really like cooked fish, it was unlikely that I would like it raw.
