Actually the cover is a bit different to that - at least in a uk tabloid paper. Could be a UK/US difference?

I tried to find some pictures but unfortunately I'm on my work computer, I can only surf at lunch time which is scarily slow (you should see how zippy it gets outside lunch!;).  The best I could get was in Amazon.co.uk but if you click the title it doesnt unfortunately bring you a better view of the cover for the kids

The Adult version is a different matter

This is an article I found at SCI FI Wire

Potter VI Cover Image Revealed

Scholastic released an image of the cover of J.K. Rowling's highly anticipated sixth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is due in stores on July 16. Mary GrandPré, the acclaimed illustrator of all five previous U.S. editions of the Harry Potter books, came up with the design.

The cover of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is drawn in tones of green with purple shadows and depicts 16-year-old Harry and Professor Dumbledore gazing into a basin from which a mysterious green light is emanating, the publisher said.

"In creating the Harry Potter artwork, I try to bring a certain amount of realism and believability to the characters and setting, but still add an element of wonder and the unknown," GrandPré said in a statement. "For the cover of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the mood of the art is truly eerie. I wanted the colors to be strong, and I chose upward lighting and dramatic shadows to convey a kind of surreal place and time."

Scholastic also announced the simultaneous July 16 release of a deluxe edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which will include a 32-page insert on special paper at the end of the book with near-scale reproductions of GrandPré's interior art, as well as a never-before-seen piece of full-color art for the frontispiece. The book will come in a foil-stamped cardboard slipcase printed with the cover image and will also include a blind-stamped cloth case, full-color endpapers printed with the jacket art from the regular edition, luxurious foil and a wraparound jacket featuring exclusive, suitable-for-framing art from GrandPré. The deluxe edition will be a total of 704 pages and have a retail value of $60, Scholastic said.

Ah ha! Amazon.co.uk updated, I think it must be a UK/US thing indeed as this is published by Bloomsbury.

As George Bernard Shaw said "England and America are two countries separated by a common language" :P

Even though I hated the Harry Potter of Order of the Phoenix, I feel I must read the newest installment.

Yes.. the covers are very different and even though I'm an American, I've always prefered the British covers. The animated look of the US ones is.. meh.. I don't know.

Soon, my friends.. soon..

Ooh.. might as well ask you guys here too, as I've already spammed several forums I belong to about this.

The library that I work for has been given the ability to have a pre-sale of Half-blood Prince on midnight of the 16th, just like a bookstore. The predicament is, however: how do we get people to preorder the book at the library instead of Borders/Wal-Mart/Barnes and Nobles, where they've gone for the past five books?

We're going to have games. XD

I'm open to any suggestions you folks might have for ideas for this event. I'm thinking.. though I really have nfi.. that there's going to be about 200 possible kids of all ages. The wee ones'll be occupied by a storytime, however the teenagers must be entertained.

A couple of things I was thinking of, was to have a Sorting Hat Ceremony and we play different games such as trivia and the House that wins gets a certain prize.

Open to any ideas, so feel free to reply. :) :)
