ive thought about postinbg this for a long time but havent for fear of what might be said and i hate looking stupid but hear goes

persuming the pophcey is for the jedi and not the sith(which i believ could be ment for eather side)

am i the only one who believes the chosen one is luke and not anakin. yes i know it wqas anikan who killed palpatine. but i dont think he would have if not for luke. lukes vary existence was palpatines death, there for bring ballance to the force

if it wasent for luke, vader would eventally killed leia not knowing she was his daughter, and he sure  wouldent have killed palpatine. so although the emperior died by anikans had his distruction in my eyes was ultimitly the resault of luke.

wouldent this make luke the chosen one since the prohcey is so vauge isent it a possability after all.

this is my belief and i know many dont agree with me. but i look at the movies as a whole and dont always except what the audience is told in movies i like to look at things as a whole and make my own conclusions

feed back is apreceated

Good points Matt. And this is the problem with prophecy in general. They can be read any number of ways.

You could say Anakin did "bring balance to the force". Because of him allowing Palpatines masterplan to be put into action, all the jedi were killed, apart from Yoda and Obi Wan. Leaving two Sith and two Jedi.

I know the twins were born, but they just have ability which is untapped at that moment. And there must be alot with force ability who are not Jedi or Sith in the galaxy too. But i'm talking about trained users.

Um doesn't it say in the original trilogy that Luke was who the prophect was talking about?

KK, no...

And I think the prophecy was part of the Sith's plot to take over the galaxy, as it was one of the main reasons Anakin was accepted in the Jedi Order.

Though, if you want to get into it, Anakin did bring balance to the Force by killing Palpatine. ;)

Are you sure?
Have I just been assuming all this time that Luke was the actual "chosen" one?

KK : I don't remember Luke being reffered to as that in any of the old films.

Maybe you're thinking of when Ben is talking to Yoda? And he says about Luke being the last hope? But that's nothing to do with him being the chosen one.

Well, to bring things into perspective I would counter the view that Vader would not have risen against the Emporer if not for Luke with the view that Luke would not have existed without Anakin. Anakin was surely the chosen one, as he instigated all the changes that eventually lead to the 'fall,' of the Empire. His children were at the forfront of the rebellian, and while they may have swayed possibilities through their own existence, if not for Anakin; the chosen one, they would not have had that chance.

im not even anikan brought the 2 and 2 ballence to the force. i mean  it was the clone/storm trropers who killed most of them with the help of order 66. whith that many troops anyone can be defeated. in my opinion the clones killed the jedi and just couldent kill yoda or kenobi

after all with as many jedi as there was, not even vader being as strong as he was would have been able to kill the jedi. alot yes but someone would have killed him long before all the jeidi were gone.

with any army like the clone troopers, no opasition could servive. i dont thing GL put to muchh thought into what he wrote for the prequals

I've had a few discussions about this question myself actually with a few friends of mine. And to me it would seem that yes, Anakin is indeed the chosen one. As Hobbie has said before, Anakin is ultimately the one that killed Sidious and then himself to bring balance to the Force.

Luke himself did help Anakin come back to the light, but there was no chance Luke would ever even dream of defeating Sidious himself. So it would seem that Anakin is indeed the one that brang balance to the force by eliminating the remaining two Sith, Sidious and himself.

Of course, anyone who cares to object with the about can lay down while I run across them with my double bladed lightsabre say otherwise, but I believe the truth is there, deeply, for those to see it. ;)

Anakin was the Chosen One. Mr. Lucas has stated this. Luke was the catalyst that enabled Anakin to fulfill the phrophecy.
