I thought this would create an interesting topic.

List one thing that you did today that has a positive outlook.  This could range from helping someone with a impossible task or even picking up something as simple as some litter.

I'll start with one positive action I did the other day.

I helped a customer find an item at another store, so she could purchase the item here, and have her sister pick it up there.

Hmmm, small positive actions.

Well, i often help a girl at the school i am studying at by giving her a plate and a glass of water at lunch because she is handicapped and sits in a wheelchair. Because of that she has trouble reaching them by herself. And if i arrive at school the same time as her i hold the door open for her.

Those i think are positive actions.

Oh, and this is a good thread. Another positive action by the one who started it.

It is very often the small actions that have bigger effects. It's good that people focus on the small actions as opposed to harbouring ambitions to change the world completely by rooting out evil, or other unrealistic ideas. Little things make big differences in the lives of the normal people, and that's what we need to focus on! We're not all born to change the world on a grand scale, and we have to accept our limitations, but do what ever small part we can.

Anyway, I've not done anything today, as I've not be awake long, and only made a cup of tea, so...  :D However, one thing that always sticks out in the mind was when I was working for an electrical retailer: we're drilled to be polite and smile, but to want to do it, and not just do it because we're told to. Anyway, I was serving a frail and elderly lady who had poor eyesight. I helped her out as best I could, and made small-talk with her as I did help her. Apparently, on her way out, she spoke to my manager and paid compliment to me, saying I'd made her day, just by being polite and friendly, and most of all, by meaning it.

I have my moments. Not many of them, but I sure have them.  ;)

I called my roommate beautiful as she streaked past my room in just a towel.

"Hello, Beautiful!" I said, and she greeted me with the typical silent annoyance I've come to expect when I tell her she is hot or beautiful or pretty.  And then satisfied I said to myself, "Well done, Faye, well done," and went back to reading my book.

These are great so far, keep them coming.  I believe lots of people will find inspiration to do something positive from other peoples actions.

cutemacgyver = aww, That is a very special person who needs your extra attention to help her through life, I am sure she really appreciates it.

ajcardall = I find that the elderly are the ones that we should pay special respect to and lend them a hand where ever need be.

qd = Continued existence is something really positive, taking care of an animal.

polson = *chuckle* must have been a good book.

I shared my knowledge about new technology at work with another associate, which helped them better understand their job and to better assist the customer.

Yesterday at school i found a cell phone that someone had forgotten so i took it and gave it to the reception saying that i found it.

Although the girl who had dropped it came looking for it a few moments later i still think that was a positive action.

Sometimes I find my own problems so overwhelming I find it hard to help other people. My own little good deed is trying to be nicer to my mum, sometimes it's harder to be nice to the ones who are closest. =) That and recycle more often are what I'm trying to do!

When i am often at work there are people who always require that extra special attention and i see it as my job to give it to them. I am in charge in the evenings and i lead by example. Be it something as simple as helping one of our elderly customers into and out of their mobility vehicles to using ones position of trust and authority with responsibility.

For example, we have a partially blind guy who frequents my place of work and he usually seeks me out. He can't pay for his shopping by himself, so more often than not i do so for him. I know his pin code for his debit card, though i don't even know his name...

Most nights i am plagued by phone calls from customers, a lot of them elderly... i always take the time to listen to their problems and try to solve them as best i can.

Though tonight i had to deal with abusive customers, threatening my staff, i feel it is positive action that i stand by my member of staffs side and deal with the problem, i want them to know that i will be there for them if they need me. Additionally, after my work was said and done i stayed behind without being paid to ensure everything was reported to the authorities and to make sure should this happen again, my staff are going to be safe.

I am not a religious person, quite to the contrary, but i firmly believe in one of the teachings of opus dei and its founder, Josemaría Escrivá - who said we should all be saints through our work,

Yesterday, I ran in and kissed my roommate on the cheek while she was sleeping before going to work. More because I dreamt she had died and I wanted to make sure just in case that actually happened, my last memory of her would be a happy one.

Soon I shall head off to my Grandpa Polson's birthday party where I will kiss my grandma on the forehead.

Kisses just make life better.  Now, if only I could find a boy to kiss ME....

Dmitri = I had a customer who was partially blind too!  I helped him out completing his transaction.  I also helped him find some items around the store.

He appreciated my help and asks for me when he shops.
