Mount Redoubt, located in southcentral Alaska (and about 110 miles from Anchorage), is getting ready to erupt. I'd like to dispel the rumors that this poses a threat to me. The worst that will happen for the people of Anchorage is lots of ash. Please. Don't worry about me. Or that Brandon guy.

Seriously, it's not like I live 5 miles from Vesuvius or near Mount St. Helens.

I didn't even know a volcano was gonna erupt! I wonder if the ash will fall here???
Im hoping I've moved before Mt. Rainier blows....if not I'll be able to see the eruption from my back yard....

So, the volcano has pretty much died down. The alert level has gone from "Watch" to "Advisory", from Orange to Yellow.
Not saying that it won't erupt, but it's less likely now.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand............ the alert level went back up to Orange/Watch. There was a 15,000 ft high ash/steam plume today. What the hell is this volcano doing?!

Yeah, Anchorage is safe so far. The wind went in a north/northwest direction, carrying all the ash away from us. We're over 100 miles northeast of Redoubt.
