I'm looking for some new games to play, ones like star wars the old republic, and star trek online. and hopefully are free to play. Any suggestions welcomed.

Are you looking for just any old MMO? Or specifically something Sci-Fi?
EVE Online has a free-to-play option currently in the vein of space MMO.
Aion and Tera are decent free-to-play general MMOs.
Those would be my recommendations based on the games you listed.
