I say it's most likely Iain's fault, anyway. I've been hearing rumours, from my spies and contacts, that he's trying to cut the year down to 10 longer months instead of the twelve 30 days months currently in place. There'd be 35 days in every odd month, and even months would have 36. Oh, and he's trying to get rid of weekends all together.

The previous recommendation cycle is still incomplete from September 2007 (awaiting Promotions Committee approvals) - so I had to put in place this workaround to disable the Promotion System.
Without this temporary kludge, the database would end up in an inconsistent state - as it was not anticipated in the design of the Promotion System 5 years ago that approvals would not be complete within 4 weeks of closure of the previous cycle.
... but, yes, we do get an amusing message out of it. And, for what it's worth, if we ever get 40 day months, the Promotion Cycles will indeed fit around it... as things stand.
