All the talk has made me start to wonder what folks are watching these days, because it occured to me I don't know what's popular. So, imagine if you will, your basement. Filled with the latest in home entertainment and comfortable couches, you come home from a long day at work and all you want to do is kick back and relax. You have available to you every single episoe from every single sci fi/fantasy series/movies ever made world wide. What series are your top five picks?
Mine would be
1. Stargate SG-1
2. Stargate Atlantis
3. Firefly
4. Voyager
5. The Next Generation

Babylon 5 (not too well-known)
DS9
[TNG]
Watching (nearly) weekly:
SG and SG-A (yes, I do)
Battlestar Galactica (old, new as far as I've seen)
Genial Daneben (German comedy-show, kind of like Trivia on TV)
Would watch if TV-programs would bother to show:
X-Files
TNG
TOS
several others
All together I don't watch much TV any more, mostly limited to wednesday and saturday for the things listed on (nearly) weekly

If we go by just TV series, mine are (and these aren't in any particular order):
1. Heroes
2. Young Indiana Jones
3. Firefly
4. Lost
5. TNG
However, you also said movies, so I figured I'd say my top choices for those, and my favorite movies trump my favorite shows:
1. Star Wars
2. Indiana Jones
3. Lord of the Rings
4. Spider-Man
5. Either Equilibrium, Predator, or Alien
And I liked the Stargate movie. Just couldn't get into the TV series.

Favorites...
Star Wars OT (no special order there) (yes, big surprise there )
Star Trek II, IV, VI, VIII (same)
A couple of German ones that not many here will know
Several more that I will watch occasionally when they are on TV
Also will watch Harry Potter, but I prefer reading books with movies that originally were books.

PS: QD likes Farscape?  I thought about listing that one as only series I really dislike

5 - does the playboy channel count under fantasy......JK...

*l* Well I said actually that you own every sci fi/fantasy series created, or scifi/fantasy movies created, and you can have your pick of whatever, but the extra lists are very informative.
'twere House sci fi I'd have listed it too.
And Harry Potter movies are a total fave.

TV series we have been watching in the last 2 years:
1. Firefly
2. 4400
3. SG-Atlantis
4. SG1
5. Andromeda
We also watch Voyager and TNG sometimes but we've seen them all at least twice already.

Well... Monny just kinda said it.... She is just conveniently forgetting to mention that we are currently watching Xena on a daily basis... That is basically because we have already seen all the episodes of the series mentioned above that are for sale in this wet little country.
For the records, my fave series would be:
1. Firefly
2. ST DS9 (with the exception of the first two seasons)
3. SG1
4. SG Atlantis
5. Shared between Andromeda and 4400
