Okay, I'm not a huge DS9 fan, but there is this one episode that has stuck with me. Sisko is having some kind of Emissary coma and he's a writer in the 40's or something and writes for a sci fi magazine? Anybody remember that episode and what it was called?

Remembered the episode, but not it's title, so I did a bit of digging around Memory Alpha, here is the link:

My favourite DS9 episode was 'The Visitor'. An accident knocks Sisko out of phase with our universe and he only reappears for a few moments every few years or so. The episdoe opens with Jake as an old man being visited by a fan of the one and only book he ever wrote. He tells the story of what happened and of his father's sporadic reappearences.
It's beautifully written and acted - an astounding 45 minutes of drama.

Don't forget Shadows and Symbols - it also was in the 1950's earth.

Jeremy - I remember that episode! It was one of my favorites too - out of the episodes I saw anyway. I got banned from DS9 during it's second or third season, so I've really only seen sporatic episodes, but I remember that one. I remember it made me cry.
So did Far Beyond the Stars actually....
I never saw Shadows and Symbols.

Youre right, I got it confused with another episode on that disc about how the Romulans got brought into the war.
