Michigan State University, Mississippi State University, Montana State University, Missouri State University, Monclair State University, Minnesota State University, Midwestern State University, Morgan State University, Morehead State University, or possibly the Multiple Sclerosis Unit at Bristol, I guess?

Who cares about MSU, whatever it is they are and do? Manchester United won with a wonder goal from our 17 year old debutant, Federico Macheda! Come on the Red Devils!

I care. I am from Michigan. I am staying in Mid MI. My uncle, dad and cousin all graduated from there.
They are also a very good school.

As a Brit I have always been baffled as to why competitive matches between american universities in various sports are so popular. Over here our Unis play each other at football, rugby, cricket etc but they're only important to the Universities themselves and even then they're not the be all and end all. We have the annual boat race between Oxford and Cambridge which is full of top rowers, but the general public only really watches it as it is a historical fixture, it's been going for what, 160 years.
In the USA college basketball and gridiron, to name but two, are nationally popular in a way you just wouldn't get here. We concentrate on our porfessional clubs.
