Make a chat save... take a picture... don't tell your mother...

THIS IS THE HALO REACH SPECIAL EDITION OF THE XBOX NEWSLETTER
With the recent release of Halo : Reach we dubbed it time for it's own special edition of the newsletter, along with some other pertaining xbox live information and even more information of the kinect!

Reach

Starting off is CL4 Lucas Wilson and his words on Halo Reach!

After months of eager anticipation, it is finally here. Halo Reach has invaded retailers and homes everywhere, causing great spasms of euphoria. Gamers everywhere giggled with glee as they popped Reach into their Xbox 360s for the very first time, and was not disapointed. Reach was everything the hype made it out to be.

Though everyone already knew the story to Reach, the campaign is no let down. Whether alone, or co-oping with friends, you feel the resurgence of a joy you haven't felt since the first Halo's campaign. You are totally engrossed in the storyline. And you experience something you've not exprienced since Halo 2: killing Elites.

Yes, Elites are back, naturally. Though you did not realize the joy of battling these warrior aliens at first, you soon realize how much you missed shooting them in the head with a sniper. Or disembowling them with their own energy blades.

Halo Reach introduces something none of the other Halos did: Firefight Matchmaking. While ODST did have Firefight, it did not allow you to search online for people to play with. You were forced to wait for one of your friends to accept a game invite, or for a friend to visit. With Reach, however, this glitch is absolved.

Speaking of Firefight, if you do it the old-fashioned way (with friends), you can score some easy achievements. Firefight allows you numerous options, one of which is setting a skull that gives you invincibility. With this skull on, you can easily obtain many achievements. For example, the achievement for scoring 1,000,000 points in Firefight.

With Reach, comes the return of Matchmaking. [No, duh, Einstein.] As epic as it is, Matchmaking's rank system falls short in this game, in my opinion. You get experience for everything, even completing campaign. You can no longer as easily determine skill level by rank. Someone can easily reach the rank of General by simply completing the campaign on Normal several times. Epic fail.

Overall, Reach is everything you expected it to be, if not better. It truly lived up to its potential and our expectations. Never played Halo before? Well Reach is a prequel, and an excellent start into the series.

An avid fan? Well game on! Halo Reach is definitely a game to get.

This is Lucas Wilson, saying nerd up, or shut up!

Halo Reach

And to close it up... CL5 Shadowfox with his own little section

Now I don't have a huge amount of stuff. However I do have a tip for those fellow Halo Fanatics out there.

Anyone have Halo Waypoint?

If you don't, get it now... with Halo Waypoint alongside your Halo : Reach you receive bonus helmets and unlockables.

Plus any acheivments you've unlocked in other Halo games gets saved to Waypoint. Which those previous achievements will assist you in unlocking stuff for Halo : Reach through your Halo Waypoint.

I found this out a few days ago playing with Scot when he complained that I had more unlocked stuff and he didn't. I looked into it and BAM, I played the other Halos, he didn't. LOL

Sigh. MW2 Resurgence pack is confirmed to have 2 maps from COD4 - Strike and Vacant.Way to suck, Infinity Ward. Way to suck.

you know...all your complaining is going to the wrong people. This is all on Activision, not Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward doesn't even exist anymore since the guys who formed it have formed Respawn Entertainment I believe through EA. Activision is the ones putting out the Map Packs, and it's because they want to milk MW2 for all they can before Respawn gets to have full creative over everything in the final game. I'm actually expecting an incredibly long storyline for the conclusion

Bulletstorm

Bulletstorm takes place in a futuristic setting where a confederation is being protected by an elite band of mercenaries known as Dead Echo. When Dead Echo members Grayson Hunt, voiced by Steve Blum, and Ishi Sato discover that they had been working on the wrong side, they betray their squad commander and end up being exiled to the edges of the galaxy.[4] Players take the role of Grayson Hunt a few years after his exile, who has since become a drunken space pirate. After getting involved in an interstellar crash landing, he is reunited with his old comrade Sato.[3] The two of them discover that they are surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh eating gangs in an abandoned paradise. Hunt and Sato decide to work together once again to get off the planet alive and take revenge on the man who sent them there.[4]

Bulletstorm is an upcoming 2011 first-person shooter video game developed by People Can Fly and Epic Games[2], and is published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The game is currently scheduled for a February 22, 2011 release.[3]

Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2 is an upcoming survival horror third-person shooter video game developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.[3] It is the sequel to Dead Space. Dead Space 2 has a multiplayer mode.[4] The Limited Edition will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 3 and will include Dead Space: Extraction as a PlayStation Move compatible title.[5]

Dead Space 2 is a survival horror game that takes place on a densely populated space station, dubbed the "Sprawl". The mental illness caused by the Marker appears to be permanent and continues to have an effect on the protagonist Isaac Clarke, along with apparent posttraumatic stress disorder from his experiences aboard the USG Ishimura. The Church of Unitology and the government will continue to have a large place in the storyline. The game will begin in a hospital on board the Sprawl. Players will witness the horror of the Necromorph infection as it begins in the station.[6]

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a 2010 racing video game in development by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and iPhone.[3][4] A version for Wii is also developed by Exient.[5] The game will support 3D-display output on PlayStation 3 and Windows.[6] Hot Pursuit has been described as a "revolutionary" addition to the Need for Speed franchise and is the 16th installment of the franchise, scheduled for release in North America on 16 November 2010, and in Europe on 19 November.[7][8]

Recent games in the Need for Speed franchise included a story, but Matt Webster, producer of Hot Pursuit said "We didn't really think it was necessary to include a story. If you're a cop, the aim is to go up the ranks, while a racer's aim is to get to the highest rank they can."[17]

Star Wars : Force Unleashed II

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is LucasArts' sequel to 2008's Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game.[11] A trailer announcing the game was shown December 12, 2009, at the Spike Video Game Awards.[12] The game will be released across multiple platforms in October 2010, along with a collectors edition of the game.[13] The game received mixed reviews, praising the game's aesthetics but criticizing the story and gameplay.

The game will take place about seven months after the events of the first game,[20] and a year before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.[21][11] The Force Unleashed II will be the "dark entry" in the series,[22] and a more personal story for the game's protagonist than the first game.[20]
Players will once again control Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice and the protagonist in the first game, who may be a clone.[14] Starkiller escapes from captivity on Kamino. After eliminating his stormtrooper captors, Starkiller embarks on a quest to understand his identity and to find his love interest from the first game, Juno Eclipse.[14][21] Meanwhile, Darth Vader has hired Boba Fett to track down Juno Eclipse to lure Starkiller out of hiding.[8] Starkiller rescues Jedi Master Rahm Kota from a gladiator arena, and encounters Yoda on Dagobah.[23]

Crysis 2

Crysis 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts, due for release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in March 2011. It is the sequel to the 2007 video game Crysis and its parallel expansion game, Crysis Warhead.[2] The story was written by author Richard Morgan.[3] It will be the first game to showcase the CryEngine 3 game engine.

Players will play as "Alcatraz", a Green Beret, the new successor of "Nomad", from the first game.[citation needed] The protagonist steals the Nanosuit 2 from Crynet Systems. As a consequence, Crynet Systems starts a manhunt for the player. The Nanosuit 2 gives players more freedom in their options of how to tackle situations on the battlefield. The aliens have also undergone major redesigning, transforming the floating warriors from the first game into the even more lethal, armored bipedal war machines that stalk the ravaged New York. Crytek has stated their intention to surpass the original game graphically and have noted that combat in the game will be "catastrophically beautiful".[5] Crytek has also claimed that Crysis 2 will have lower system requirements than the original game[6] and also support stereoscopic 3D.[7]

However, I'll not comment of Black Ops. Being a Battlefield fan boy, it wouldn't be right

All I know is that the only game I am looking forward to this year as of right now is Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I have literally played my Oblivion G.O.T.Y. edition disk to the point it doesn't run correctly anymore, and as much as I have loved fallout: New Vegas I have wanted a new Elder Scrolls game forever.
