The Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Series 800 Version 2.4 Infiltration-Combat Unit was sent from the future to arrive in Acton, California on June 8, 1995. Its mission was to protect young John Connor, which it successfully completed.
To protect his younger self in the past, John Connor reprogrammed this Terminator and sent it back in time via the time displacement sphere.

yeah John may sent it back primarily to protect himself, but rarely does anyone know that its secondary objectives were to get on broadway and to do show tunes

The beetle questions have nothing to do with Terminator whatsoever. I asked for Trivia subjects and Ray came up with Extinct South American insect species, if I recall correctly Every subject mentioned has been used for at least one question throughout the Trivia, so that one too

Skynet was connected to the worldwide civilian sector network, and began learning geometrically, quickly becoming self aware. Identifying humans as a threat to its existence, Skynet developed a super computer virus which it used to spread itself throughout civilian communications and across the Internet and take control.

it was software that was set up by CRS who took over the Cyberdine project, and once CRS activated the skynet project, partially due to a supposed super virus that was infecting computers worldwide, General Brewster was ordered to start skynet up, once skynet was activated it spread to every internet accessible computer system world wide. \
and here John thought it was a system core, by the end of the movie he found out there was no sytem core, just software.

but I have a feeling it was the TX in T3 who sent the virus out when it connected to the internet through that lady's phone when the TX first appeared and killed that woman and stole her car and phone at the begining of the movie

As simple an answer as I expected, this question turned out to be quite hard! I was looking for 'a virus', so generalmax gets the point!

granted the virus did come from skynet, but it was its software that General Brewster activated because of the virus that was really what took control of the civilian internet

7of24, I understand your point, but Skynet DID use a virus to spread itself to the other computers. Had you answered before generalmax I would have granted you the point, because both can be considered correct. Better luck next time
