So..

IS it as good as we all think? :)

What is the best part of it besides the actual Movie?

Please try to remember than not everyone have seen the movie yet.
If you are one of them, please remember that if you continue in this thread, you might see and know more than you want for optimum 1st Time Viewing Pleasure.    ;)

A missing option:

-Don't have the DVD yet, but will buy it soon :)

I was wondering about the DVD -- are there deleted scenes? And are these, like Episode I, completed with Special FX?

Like wedge said about the deleted scenes, they even made deleted scenes especially for the DVD.... I don't really understand what that means... Maybe they were affraid they would run out of extra content for the DVD or something....

But yeah they got some cool stuff in there!

I'd say go out and rent the DVD and have a look at it if you're not going to buy it...  it's worth a look!  :)  :P

What it means, is that even the Deleted Scenes get the ILM treatment: all FX are added, etc.

AFAIK Lucas was the only one to do this, untill the extended edition of LOTR came out ;)

(Which, even better, just put the scenes in where they belong!;)

Got the thing last week. Intro by C3P0 and Rs-D2 was a surpeise. the movie was the movie - young love, politics, jedi stuff - the usual.

Missing sequences were interesting since I had read the book, and they were there but not in the movie.

Yeah, I have it on dvd and vhs *gasp* one for the road, one for the house. and the book, is that ovetkill?

And for those of you that still want more out of your Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones DVD, follow the instructions below or search online for 'DVD Easter Eggs' You'll find that many of your DVD's have pretty nifty options.

-For Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East (Region 2):

The outtakes and DVD credits are freely accessible by choosing Title 15 on your remote.  (Region 2 peeps may want to confirm this or post how you were able to access the DVD 'Easter Eggs';)

For U.S. and Canada (Region 1):

DVD Credits and Outakes (bloopers)
Disc One -

1) Go to Options, press the directional (up, down, left right,)keys so that the THX is highlighted, then press the 10+ key then 1, 3, and 8.  This should automatically start the outtakes reel.

or....

To access the outtakes reel, go to the Options menu page highlight the THX and press "10+", "1" and wait for the pause as the player accepts the input. Then press "3" and wait for the pause. Finally, press "8".

This is for those who do not have a 10+ key on their dvd remote...

While the movie is playing (after the 20th Century Fox logo appears), simply press Title, then enter 3 for the title, it will bring you to the outtakes

It may take you a few attempts...and your DVD player may differ so consult your owner's manual (like guys need to consult a manual) :P

Disc Two -

1) Go to the sub-menu where you can access the "dex kitchen" when you are in Dex's kitchen, highlight "main menu", and then press the left button. It will highlight a small poster/sign just to the right of Dex, then Enter.

Thanks to Abby for pointing that out to me last week. The bloopers were pretty cheesy, but a good laugh. Then I went to my Phantom Menace DVD and the same trick worked on Disc one by highlighting the THX in the Options menu and entering 11,3,8.

Enjoy!

The eggs are identical in Region 2 at least.

Also, don't forget Episode 2 has three different menus. One features a battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jango Fett, which was specially shot for the DVD :)

And much thanks to the CCC peeps who directed me to where I could find the 'R2D2: Beneath the Dome' "trailer" -- it is well hidden inside Dex's Kitchen, together with the sound feature.

Btw, does anyone know how to input '1138' with a SigmaDesigns Hollywood Plus DVD-ROM player?

Okay, if you have the DVD and you have seen the commentary, you know about the part during the speeder chase where the guy speaking (I don't remember who) claims that there are two TIEs chasing an X-wing in the background. Well, Billman (my fiancee and fellow OTF member) and I were looking as hard as we could on my TV but we could not see it. We watched the movie again on his computer's DVD drive and we spotted it! It's actually there, keep looking! It's in the bottom left corner of the screen. Just thought I'd let you guys know if you can't find it.

Havn't had a chance to check out the DVD yet.

Perhaps this disc is enough reason for me to go pick up a DVD player finally.

The dvd did have quite a bit of interesting material to add.  Too bad my dvd player can't automatically skip Lucas' attempt at a love scene!  Reminded me of woman's hygiene commercial :P
THanks prettyleia for pointing out where it was taking place although my husband is using this as an excuse to buy a bigger tv. :D
