Hmmm, I've read a fair few of the EU books, but I think I prefer the X-Wing books as well, because of the original characters - I've read all of Michael Stackpole's ones, but only the start of Aaron Allston's 1st Wraith Squadron book - but what I read, I enjoyed a lot - it's nice to see some non-Force sensitive people in the spotlight - even though my favourite character, Corran Horn, is also a Jedi, he's primerily a pilot in the Rogue Squadron books.

Yeah, some of the other books may suck - but not everyone will like them and see them as a part of the SW universe, just like some die-hards may not like the Prequel Trilogy and think that *it* sucks.
