Hey! In the US, it's National Dental Assistant Week. Now I know most of you shudder at the thought of going to the dentist...but you know..it's a necessary evil*L*
So...Whenever you see your favorite Dental assistant...*coughs* Give him or her a hug, thank you..gift or money is acceptable too
If it weren't for the assistant.. the Dentist would be totally lost...*L* NOt only do we assist in procedures, we are his maid, coffee getter, patient consoler, maid*coughs* oh and schedule coordinator.. I could go on but you get the picture*L* And no...we do NOT get paid what we are worth!

My sister is a dental nurse... but we don't live in the US. She does, however, constantly update me on dental nurse stuff, which is currently how you "do NOT get paid what we are worth" [See, I quoted both my sis, and Chrissy there], so she and her co-worker are campaigning for a raise.

Now if y'all could try not to ask me so many questions with a dental mirror, scraper-thingy, and the suction tube in my mouth that would be great.
Dental Assistant: "How are you today?" Me: "O...hmmm..acckkk...rooooo..slllllurrrrppp...bleh. O-tay. You?"
It's like waiters/waitresses at resturaunts. They lurk around and just as you have a mouthfull of food they ask you if everything is alright with your meal. Arrgh!
You said it KK. Can I have a raise?

The funny thing is, that I wanted to start a thread like that today. But again, the psychic Madame Cinna (or Chrissy Doll The Mostest Uberest Beautimousest as I use to call her) was faster.
So, show her your love and hug her like I do, because she rocks not only my socks, but yours, too!
*hugs*

I'd love to hug my dental assistant because she is beautiful, but I worry that should I do that she would be forced to take a restraining order out on me, and dental hygiene is just too important for me to risk that happening.
However, I will throw a huge *HUGS* at Miss Cinna, for listening to my crazy suggestions and for being an all round nice girl.

But dentists have needles and stuff. Needles scare me. This fear extends to their assistants, they are like... evil needle person in-training.

That is the FIRST problem i have ever had with my teeth, in nearly 20 years, thank you VERY much dear. And yes, i have a very very little hole which causes me no problems, i haven't had it filled in because needles scare the crap outta me.
And visibly, my teeth are perfect.

You don't really need anesthesia to get a dental filling, though...
