Actually I don't like the fat free stuff.  It tastes funny.  I've tried to get used to it,  used half a bottle before I finally gave up and accepted it was not a taste I could aquire.

If my Ranch and Ketchup and sometimes Sweet Chili Sauce or Plum Sauce offends you, I will never ask you to make me dinner. :P

I am a great cook, but I still like ketchup on the side with my grill cheese sandwich, and ketchup on the side, with my german meatloaf. I love ketchup with eggs, depending on how I make my eggs.

I also must have hellmans mayo on my burgers.

I can not eat fries anymore, but when I did eat them when I was out, I had them with salt, pepper, vinigar, gravy, ketchup, sour cream, chilli and green onions.("NEW YORK FRIES",NAME OF THE FAST FOOD FRIES PLACE).

I always spice up my food enough when I cook. I never ever add any extra salt to any food. Even if the food I am eating would need salt. To much extra salt is bad for you.

I spice up my pork chops with cajun spice when cooking. Then nothing needs to be added when they are finished.

So to all chefs out there, let the customers eat the food the way they like it, and they will be repeat customers.

I can not eat eggs without ketchup.  My Dad made some really scrumptuous omlets with gooey cheese all melted through them the other day.  I tried to eat some because they looked so good, but there was no ketchup in the house.  I had to say, "Sorry, Dad, I just can't do it." =-( Course, he didn't mind, just smiled and said, "The more for me to eat, then."  :P

If my meat is seasoned really well, I refuse to put anything on it.  Just depends on how well its seasoned.  Although, I tend to like my Dad's cooking more than just about any restaurant food I've ever eaten.

I eat sweet and sour suace (sometimes called "duck sauce") on my fried rice.  No soy sauce for me, thank you!  Except on my sushi.  I only eat low sodium soy sauce on my sushi, though, because the regular tastes too salty and I don't like salt.  I eat cocktail sauce on my calamari sometimes.  My favorite thing to do, though, is to eat sushi and calamari in front of my friends who get grossed out by it.

But, I think you all are crazy.  When I go to a restaurant, I'm not all that concerned about what the food tastes like.  I'm more of the type who wants to find the best margarita! :P  I'm all about finding the right balance between the taste and texture.  Salt rim or sugar rim?  Which is the best? Now, that is the question.  (And I hate putting ketchup on my margaritas! :P)

I think david is getting confused by all you americans (canadians too) improperly calling crisps, chips.  And what you call fries are chips. ;)

And yes we get ketchup flavoured crisps here but there are so many better flavours.

*raises hand* My fault. I just couldn't help myself. Chips eventually always lead back to the buffalo in my little brain.  It must be because I'm 1/8th (possibly less) native.

My excuse?  I'm just obsessed with Jessica Simpson in MTV's The Newlyweds. (Jessica's infamous line, "Buffalo have wings?") A reality show that any rational, intelligent...or even sentient being would stay far far away from.

And for anyone interested, I'm also a fan of MTV's reality show where Chris Knight is dating Top Model Adrienne.
I think it's funny. :P

I find it disconcerting when you people say "French Fries". :( It was bad enough moving from Germany to Ireland when suddenly "Pommes frites" were chips and "Chips" were crisps.

This world confuses me. :(

I come back and see this topic has gone down the drain.
I am so proud!!! *sobs*
But serriously, if you lot think you have it bad, Not only are we very multicultural that chips mean like 15 different things, we also have 5 different codes of football. It can mean:
AFL (Aussie rules)
Rugby league
Rugby Union
Soccer
Touch.

I mean, shesh, and in some codes the names are similar, so if your talking about, say, 'The Storm' it can either mean Melbourne in the Rugby League, or some Union team.

Meh!!!

"Down the drain" is what you're calling our wonderful random conversation-making skills? I'm so disappointed in you! :(

Edit: Why oh why has this topic not been renamed "Ketchup, oh how I ate thee" yet? Am I really the only one who's this lame? :(
