Allow me to relate a story from my childhood. My beloved cat Tiger used to run down the hall at top speed and into a wall repeatedly. There was speculation as to his mental stability (although I never doubted his sanity). This earned him the unpolitically correct nickname "Mr. Retardo" (I apologize, my family is so unpc). Now Tiger's favorite place in the world was a box in our kitchen. Any shape and/or size of cardboard box, so long as he had a box in our kitchen to sit in or sleep in. Before long we started saying to him when we walked by "Retard in a Box!" From there when any of us was being stupid, someone would always say, "Do you have a box in your kitchen?" which in essence meant "You're a retard" (as I said...not very pc).
Taking the above story into context...Micha's sitting in a box.

Brady Kady, did you forget to tell me we were swapping guys?  Aparently, I'm dancing Ashlee Simpson style and feeding squirrels to peanuts with Casey while my twin, Brady Kady is doing who knows what with my love of my life.
Anywhoo, Brady Kady did an amazing job with the avatar awards, whatever it is that he did to them, and everyone won some cool stuff, so I hear. Sorry, no pigeons are being awarded since Casey would not allow Brady Kady to offer dirty awards. =-(

In no particular order...
1. The closup Ezri Dax that I made for you (Pols). Now known as Ezri Dax 5. I never realized how stunning her eyes were until I made that avatar.
2. Picard in the Sailors Uniform on the holodeck. Jean-Luc Picard 10
3. And the Benjamin Sisko, where he has that glow from the Prophets over half of his face. Benjamin Sisko 3
And to whoever made the Quark Avitar with the (I believe) Tribble on his head! Well Done. Love it!
There were some other ones that I liked just as much but those three I mentioned were some of my favorites.
I learned a few things about myself when making the avatars. Well, I didn't learn these things as I already knew them but, in hindsight, its funny to think about what these choices say about me.
First, you'll notice many close-ups or focus paying attention to the eyes. I'm an eye man through and through. That's what I find attractive. That's what intrigues me.
Second, many of the images seem introspective in nature. This is a quality within myself as I tend to reflect upon things many times over rather than simply moving on.
Third and final, many of them also have a feeling of solitude, in my opionion. Micha runs Lone Wolf Kidding aside, I do tend to spend a fair amount of time alone, isolated which is probably due to the great amount of time I spend in reflection of events.
When I made the avatars, I just tried to find unique or interesting pictures. Things that somehow made me smile or feel good. Maybe a sense of unity with it somehow. I did not intend to create things that really reflect upon who I am and never even thought about anything like that.
It's just that sitting here now, looking over the avatars, I realize how much of myself went into creating them. From picking the images to manipulating them. If you look close enough you might just see the real me.

But yes, it's obvious you put alot into these avs, Micha. And I know what you mean with the inferences between art and the self. That's an interesting concept.. avatar making as an art form..

I am well aware of the "Playing Hard to Get" Theorum. But I must counter, sometimes Micha isn't playing hard to get, he just doesn't want to be gotten.

I can't imagine that anyone would ever find Nicoll nor Mr. Bravo utterly repulsive. I've heard all the locker room talk, gentleman. Trust me, you are wanted.

He begins to laugh, very pleased. Joey sulks at his desk behind
a pair of sunglasses.
MR. MORGAN
...who has an excuse.
(to Joey)
Shaft, lose the glasses.
Joey reluctantly removes his shades to reveal severe damage. The
class snickers.
MR. MORGAN
(continuing)
Alright. Anyone brave enough to read theirs aloud?
No one moves. Then Kat slowly raises her hand.
KAT
I will.
Patrick looks up.
MR. MORGAN
(anticipating the worst)
Lord. Here we go.
Kat stands and walks to face the class. She clears her throat
before reading from her notebook.
KAT

And the way you cut your hair.

I hate your big dumb combat boots

She pauses, then continues.
