I'm not given to cheese...well, maybe I am, but we'll pretend for the sake of my opener that I'm not...so this may seem a LITTLE out of character, but good gravy I LOVE this place.

I have to say, I never understood the whole cheese fascination thing. I only like it when it's melted.

And I like spinach. Weird, huh?

Spinach and a sauce of melted cheese, preferably Gorgonzola or similar, over some al dente pasta - YUM!

Gah, now you've made me all hungry... :k

Ages ago my house mate and I loved cheese so much we didn't eat anything that didn't have cheese on it for like a month.  Except for smoothies.  We ate lots of smoothies.  We lived off of smoothies and zesty cheese doritos.  Sometimes we'd eat cheezies instead or the spicy doritos.  Or we'd just eat cheese.

The thought of it makes me a little sick now...

Cheese is good, though, and i hate to throw this at people, the enzime they use to make it is not something i really like thinking about 'where it came from'.
You can get vegetarian cheese, which uses a different enzyme, but that tastes silly, and yeah - gotta love a nice soft cheese, hmmm... yummm!!!!!

We were talking about cheese at work yesterday and, shockingly, a Polish girl who works for us said that all British cheese was rubbish. The very nerve! She completely overlooked the wondrous delights of mature cheddar, a good, strong farmhouse red leicester, caerphilly, lancashire, wensleydale (for you Wallace and Grommit fans), and of course the King of Cheese, blue stilton. Britain produces the best cheese in the world!

Oh dear.

Now, I don't like most things about the French. Cheese, on the other hand, I can't let anyone insult. Particularly not a British, of all people.

France may not have all the best cheese. Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy also have some very good ones but, out of all these countries, it's the one with the largest choice of cheese. Unless you really can't stand cheese, there's at least one type of french cheese you have to like.

Since fair is fair, I can't remain quiet on british cheese, either. First off, Leicester tastes like feet, literaly. Cheddar is decent, though mostly tasteless. I only use it for hamburgers.
And what? There are more kinds? In the three months I spent in London, I haven't noticed. Sure, there are different names on the labels, but the taste is hardly different.
So, yeah, brag about tea or cricket if you want to. But cheese is definitely not a british thing. Especially considering the prices you dare put on better cheese, like brie. *g*

And on that note,
*runs after Svenja* :?

I love cheese very much. Not all cheese is gross. I will admit, some cheese is gross. I live in Canada, and we have a wide range of cheese choices from around the world. I love Feta Cheese in Greek food. Chedder Cheese for Grilled Cheese sandwiches, Brie Cheese is not bland and I love it, even melted on bread. I love Swiss Emmental Cheese, Provalone Cheese, Monterey Jack Cheese in salad and on burgers. I am not a fan of Goat Cheese, but if it is in salad  or mixed in other foods I will eat it. But on its own, I don't like the taste of Goat Cheese. I also like Camembert Cheese. It has a nice taste to it. I also like Gouda. This cheese also has a nice flavour. I don't like Limburger Cheese. This is kind of a stinky cheese. I just love Asiago Cheese. It has a nice flavour. You all should try it sometime. Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese is good in Pasta. So try some of these cheeses, then come here and tell us what you think.

I have never tried British cheese, so I don't know if it is good or not. What kind of cheese comes from Britian, so I can try it? I have only had cheese from the following countries:
1. Canada
2. Germany
3. Italy
4. Greece
5. France.
6. Switzerland.
So it is nice I live in a country, where I can get cheese from around the world.

Like hobbie said, Britian is not known for there cheese, is why I can't name any British Cheese. But the British are great cooks. I love Jamie Oliver. I will try British Cheese if I have some names of cheese. I can then come back to this forum and tell you all if I think British cheese is good or not. Each country around the world is known for some kind of food. So lets not put down other countries food, until we have tasted it first.

The Italians and Germans are known for there wine. The Germans along with the French are known for there good baked goods. The Swiss are known for there chocolate. So lets be kind to all countries and there food.
