I am so new here it squeaks, but I thought I'd offer a taste of what it is that I write, in the hopes it might interest some of you. I'm not normally at the computer over weekends - so do enjoy yours in advance...

today is so quiet
like the humming in my ears
the air tastes bitter - with unshead tears
i don't remember how it started
but i can guess the way it ends
and the only thing i'd cry about
is when the lady kills the hero
that she tried hardest to defend
for the lady loved the hero
more, much more than you'd have guessed
and it wasn't her intention to be so empty at the end
so the bullet passed right through her
and murdered purity instead
how many times the lady prayed, for time to write the script again
to undo all the hurt she'd caused
and give the hero life again
there's a bitter rain that's falling
still clenched up in the stars
and the lady holds up her umbrella to the cold dark iron sky
through the sleeting and the screaming, stands the shadowed lady's grace
holding her umbrella over our silent hero's form
and she'll stand there, evry re-run, whilst the hollow credits roll
and the unshed tears all tumble through the words, the love, the film
she'll stand there, for she promised, she'd be with him till the end
today i am the lady
my hero, and my love
if of all the things i promised, this i'll do, the only one
i will stand there, till we're washed away
keeping the place i swore i'd be
holding my heart up as umbrella
till the final edit's in
for the lady loved the hero
more, much more than you'd have guessed
