IGN have got what they claim to be specs on the Revolution hardware.  Despite what the writer says, It is in fact slightly more powerful than the Xbox despite what the numbers may say.  If you want to have a read of, then simply go to http://revolution.ign.com/articles/699/699118p1.html

Also in the news today, Satoru Iwata discussed price points for Next gen games.  Once again, haven't had a chance to read it yet but the link is http://money.cnn.com/2006/03/29/commentary/game_over/column_gaming/

Gamedaily have said that a revolution worldwide launch is still possible. http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/news/?id=12283 apparentely it was mis-interpreted when iwata said they were not going to do it juse because Sony and MS did.

Gamespot also has parts of an article from a japanese nintendo mag who talked with the engineers who worked on the DS lite. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/news/story.php?sid=6147089 if you wanna read

Finally I am getting round to posting some info on these new revolution games.  Both are what you would call mature games.

The first is Red steel where you play as a soldier for the Yakuza.  Thats the Japanese mafia I believe.  This game actually sounds exciting and if I could find the link, you'd understand why.  The link has been found.  Its quite a good read and details alot of features of the game.

The other game is Sadness.  An interesting title as it will be black and white throughout the whole game.  Inspired in part by Sin City.

Nintendo is working on an Animal Crossing for the Wii.  Game designer Katsuya Eguchi has confirmed that it is being made but is not yet in a playable form.  It will involve the Wiimote but how hasn't been finalised yet.

While I am here, European release date for the DS lite is 23rd June.  This means us Aussies get it before both the US and Europe.  Woohoo!  Of course we only get the Crystal White model at launch while Europe gets a shiny black version too.

Yay a price finally for the Wii.  Pricing is likely to be around $225US, €225, £150 and about $300 for Australia.  So a nice low price.

That's a nice price! I totally agree with the X-Box boss, buy a 360, and a Wii. You'll get the best games then for sure.

And, buying both will probably cost the same as the PS3! *L*

I'm liking the sound of that price. Good old Ninty, keeping things cheap!

Just an update on the pricing for the Wii for UK gamers saying that the pricing will reflect Japanese and US prices.

There is also going to be a new Rumble pak for the DSlite.  So far only to be released in Japan but surely they wouldn't deny the rest of the world this wonderful device

My first news post for a while.  Gameworld network have some vids of the wiimote in action with the games.

I haven't watched any yet but I have heard that some were disappointed with Red Steel and ubisoft has promised to work on the movements and make them better.

This is from NOE
The DS in a Alex Rider film
27 June 2006 - Experience espionage at its most thrilling as Nintendo announces a partnership with new teen spy movie, Stormbreaker.

Set to be the must-see summer blockbuster, Stormbreaker uses a Nintendo DS at the heart of the storyline, turning it into a gadget any super spy would be proud of.

Stormbreaker, taken from the first book in the best-selling adventure series by novelist Anthony Horowitz, features Alex Rider, a normal 14 year old teenager who lives with his uncle, a nondescript bank manager, or so it seems.

However when Uncle Ian Rider dies in mysterious circumstances, Alex discovers his uncle was in fact a spy who has been murdered by one of the most dangerous assassins in the world. Alex finds himself recruited by the Special Operations Division of MI6, and realises that by encouraging his hobbies his uncle has thoroughly prepared him for a career in espionage.

Linguist, scuba diver, mountaineer, crack shot and martial arts expert, Alex has all the attributes to make the perfect teenage spy. Armed with these skills and his own set of special gadgets, including a modified red Nintendo DS, Alex embarks on his first mission.

Featuring the cream of Hollywood and British talent, the Nintendo DS takes a starring role alongside big names including Robbie Coltrane, Damian Lewis, Ewan McGregor, Sophie Okonedo, Alex Pettyfer debuting as Alex Rider, Andy Serkis, Alicia Silverstone, and Micky Rourke.

Stormbreaker also stars Stephen Fry (“The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy”, “Wilde”), filling the role of top gadgeteer ‘Smithers’ who converts the already innovative Nintendo DS into an all encompassing tool to aid Alex in fulfilling his assignments.

See a whole new side to the Nintendo DS and hold on tight as Stormbreaker comes to a cinema near you across Europe in the summer of 2006
