I like yo yos. But I like slinkies more.  And I play with a "bop it". In fact, my buddy and I invented a full contact version of "Bop-it Extreme". It's called "Bop or Be Bopped".

Bop It products for those who don't know what I'm talking about.... http://i23.ebayimg.com/03/i/06/e6/79/b2_1.JPG

The original bop it game had three options...bop it, pull it, or twist it. The computer tells you which to do and you have to keep up or you lose, can be played solo or with a group (fourth option then becomes "pass it!").  Bop it extreme includes a flick it and a spin it on top of the existing options, with the same solo or group option.

Bop or Be Bopped is best played with the Extreme.  I have to go to an eye appointment but when I get back I shall tell you the rules to this most excellent game.

TeeKay... oh my gosh, that's years ago, but I always loved talking to her... not only because we're both Germans, but because of her intelligence, warmth and kindness...

Okay, sorry about the delay (I know you were all deeply interested), my internet was dead when I came home from my appointment and I just got home from work now.

Bop or Be Bopped -
Using the group setting on the bop it means as the game goes on it gives you certain commands and then says "pass it".  For the purposes of making this simple, we'll say there are three players (works best with three players and a score keeper).  Player A starts playing bop it, meanwhile Player C is chasing Player A and trying to upset the game by grabbing Player A's hand so they can't bop it, or flicking it when it's supposed to be spun, etc.  If Player A loses the game before the "pass it" command is given, Player C gets a point (for those who don't know, the bop it game screams at you and must be reset if you mess up).  If Player A makes it to the "pass it" phase, Player A MUST get to Player B before the next command is given (the game gives a short do do do do do beat before moving on at a quicker speed).  If Player C intervines at this point, Player C loses a point.  If Player A does not make it in time to Player B, Player A loses a point. If Player B runs away, Player B loses a point.  Assuming the pass off is successful, Player A gets a point and Player B commences the game with Player A now chasing them and passes off to Player C. Then Player B chases Player C and Player C passes off to Player A and we start all over. Usually you can get a bystander to score keep for you because it's hard to keep track if for some miracle you can keep the game going without dying, which is not impossible, but extremely difficult to do when you're charging around kitchen tables (and under them), over couches, up and down stairs while being chased with someone who's flailing their arms at your bop it.  Not only that, but the game speeds up with every successful pass it, so it gets harder the more passes you complete.

This game is amazingly fun.  Soctty and I invented it in 20 minutes while his sister left us alone to go pick up his other sister.  When Karla came back she saw me (I was 20 at the time) jumping over a couch and screaming with an 11 year old boy tearing after me (their parents were in the Cook Islands - so I dropped by to check on the kids :k ).  I had bruises the size of texas on my legs from those funny little windy window sticky outers (three of them on the only path around the table! ).
