I am trying to find a way to download and store some streaming videos.

They can be viewed at
http://video.google.com/videopl....&time=9
and
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5588225919133826203

Alternatively if they cannot be saved as video clips  then can they be saved as mp3s?

Any help is much appreciated.

Err.. click the "Download" button on the right side of the page?

You'll need Google's player to view them (or a hack), but you already have that since you saw it online in the first place. Just choose to open the file in the web browser of your choice.

the download buttom downloads google's player.

You need to look at the source, search for .swf, copy the file's name... Then create a new HTML file using notepad with the following a href="file address + name"  link  close a.  Then, open that file, and 2nd click with the mouse on the link and click "download."  You'll have downloaded the .swf to your comp and should be able to view it in IE.
