It's that time when many of us are taking summer vacations... So help a brother or sister out -- what are some good reads to take along for the trip?

What age range are you looking for a reading list for?

I believe the question is more of a what are you reading this summer? Lots of people have a summer reading list? Anything on your list?

This is my Summer reading list.
"The Color Purple" - Alice Walker - Finished! was very good, couldn't put it down... "The Kitchen God's Wife" - Amy Tan - currently reading, half way finished "Slaughter House Five" - Kurt Vonnegut (I know I spelled that wrong, but I'm lazy and dumb) "The mother knot : a memoir" - Kathryn Harrison "The Gospel According to Jesus Christ" "The Grapes of Wrath" - John Steinbeck "Go Down, Moses" - William Faulkner (this one is supposed to be good) "Richard III"

I don't have time to read much anymore sad, but true. Maybe it's time I dusted off some of my old books, so I don't feel the urge to rush and find out what happens. Maybe Mercedes Lackey *though I'm high fantasy'd out* or my old standby, Dragonsinger.
It's hard to read when you're writing, I try not to or I get sidetracked

well I work in a library so I see all these books I want to read... plus since I've been skipping lunch I tend to read on my lunch hour.

Aleka, I've had that problem too *l* hence why I have 30 books out right now.
But for summer, I've got a huge list of things to read. They're mainly classics, things I've always heard about, but never read (not even for school).
A list:
Sun Tzu - Art of War Nietzsche - Beyond Good and Evil The Histories of Herodotus Machiavelli - The Prince Tolstoy - War and Peace Dante's Inferno Arthur Miller - The Crucible Virgil - The Aenid
The list goes on
But, so far? I've read 0 of them *lol* Oops

The Inferno of Dante (or Dante's Inferno depending on which translation you pick up) is a fantastic book, you just have to dive into it.
The Crucibe is very very good, you'll like it, I also reccomend Death of a Salesmen by the same author, something you can relate more to in modern times.
I finished the Kitchen God's Wife and am half through with Slaughter House five.
