US appeals court upheld the right for the government to force ISP's to gain access to all people on their service. This would alow the government to listen to all internet conversation. The FCC stated that this was a 'reasonable policy' for the risk of criminals using Internet communications to bypass the wiretaps. This would affect everyone using VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocal) services, such as Vonage, SpeakEasy, and other misc VOIP services. This would also affect everyone using an email service, such as Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, ect...
ISP's would have to comply to this new policy by May 14, 2007.
