If I can get out, i head down to teh stables and have a nice long chat with my horse.

If I cant get out, I have a nice long bath with a good book.  And a glass of something nice.  And some chocolate.  And some nice bubbles.  And some nice lotion for afterwards.  And nice new fresh satin PJ's.  I am so spoiled!

I have a thousand hobbies I neglect.

If I'm being lazy, I goof off online (which isn't always stress free, alas), or play a computer game or video game, or I channel surf, or I watch a movie or I watch Stargate.  Sometimes I will call up a friend and chat, or go chat with anybody who's home.

If I'm not being lazy, I'll go for a bike ride, or kick around a soccer ball, read a book, write a book, study things, paint or draw, or scrapbook.  I will even go shopping, which surprises me because I'm soooooooo not that kind of girl, when I shop I'm in and I beline for what I want and then I'm out.

Sometimes I play LOTR Risk with myself, and I cheat mercifullessly because when I play strategy games, half of it is forcing the other player to make a move I want them to make and then crushing them.  It's hard to do that to yourself when you're playing both sides and you know what you're up to.

There is no day without my piano, even if it's only to press a key, then leave it alone. It's just, that I have to play it, because I feel stressed and unhappy if I don't. I'm addicted to music, nothing more to say.

I also enjoy my aikido classes a lot, as well as yoga. And there's always a book in my bag to read. That's what I enjoy. And I remember, that I can spend hours and hours just to sit behind a window and watch the rain outside, though I like it even better when I go out to walk in the rain, and get wet to the bones.

I can't seem to find anything that makes me relax any more, no matter what I do, I always seem preoccupied with what I ought to be doing- get online, do this, do that, don't just drop everything and blank out.

I may snap...

When did my brother become a concerned member of the community? :? Strange that this happens in a paralelle to Jor's (partial) return... Strange indeed :v

Anyways. My computer and all of you are of course one of my biggest releases. I'm taking up others though, much to do with my want to live more heathy. I've started reading again as a way to unwind after work, as well as walking to and from work. I'm on night shifts right now and the walk home is very peaceful. I've also gotten a trial membership to a gym, which I will be making permanent on friday so I can work out with my friends Tanya and Ray (no, not that Ray :P)

I've also found that my roommates youngest son, Lieland, is a great source of stress relief when he is giggling... I'm still glad I can give him back when he makes the headache inducing baby noises though :D I'm also considering writing again, my muse has been gone for so long that I think it's time I went looking for her.

To relax after a long day, I like to sit down with a glass of Jack Daniels & Coke and read a bit. Of course, after a few glasses, it gets a bit more difficult to read. *l*

My day's are all pretty much the same. I work a bit later most days (not getting home before 6pm at the earliest..ever) so in order for me to have any time to talk to my guy at all,  I come in and "relax, unwind" either on msn, or on the phone!
'Round about 9pmish or so, I usually grab some dinner and curl up to watch some random TV or read or whatever. Depends if I have my daughter or not.

My time very rarely is my own...and when it is my own, I read trashy novels, or take long bubble baths, or have something fruity and girly to relax me, or listen to music and doze off.

Meditation.  Even if it's just two minutes at the bus stop.
I need that time without any though that can be phrased verbally.
Quite difficult to learn but well worth the effort.

I like to relax by either riding my bike, blowing money on cards or jerseys, talking to a friend, drinking some coca-cola or watching Dave Chappelle. There's prolly a lot more I can put, but I know for sure that these tend to help chill me out.

getting online and preoccupieing my mind with  other stuff seems to help a  bit. I try  to watch a movie but I always seem to be a bit too impatient to sit through the  whole thing at home...so much going on. When the weather is nice and comfortable, I like to sit outside and watch  people go by. I had the best time at the beach last year sitting on the balcony  for hours a day.. just watching  people go by... I sit and think.."What are they thinking? Where are they going? are they as screwed up in the head as me?*L* Wonder where they  live?" and that sort of stuff.. People watching is fun*L*

I usually sit and read but not been able to concentrate on a book for a while now so I have a stack of about 20 to get through.

I love having a long soak in the bath and just lying with my head under the water, I find it incredibly soothing.

Or I mess around online and I've just started writing again.

I think back and remember to an early episode of Boston Public where Scott Guber plays Dvorak's Ninth Symphony, second movement and then just sit there quietly.

It's a nice piece of imagery that no matter what, we have to just keep going and find our peace where we can.

I like riding my ATV as fast as I can take it, flying over hills and feeling the wind whirl past my skin.

I also like running, my heart pounding with each step I take, feeling the wind push against my face, and for a split second feeling invincible to everything in the world....like the faster I run, nothing can touch me.

Or, working out, walking, or just doing something active in general.  I get nervous easily, so when I need a way to expend all that energy.

I am horrible at reading.  I always quit books before I'm even half way through them.  I like writing, but can never find the inspiration to write anything.  I like classic movies...and anything with Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, or Julia Roberts especially.

I like being online, but it's both stressful and can be unhealthy if you allow it to monoplozie your time...which I sometimes do.

Sleeping. Seriously. A really good nap does wonders....I close the curtains so it's completely dark, turn on the heater or air-conditioner or humidifier or whichever gadget is appropriate for the day ;), get naked and fall asleep in bed. Try it sometime, there is nothing more hedonistic than falling asleep naked on high thread-count sheets.

Add scented candles, low music or a drink as appropriate. :)

Also, I recommended any button mashing game like Dynasty Warriors or a mass-killing game like GTA to relieve some stress. Or  work out for 2-3 hours or go on a long bike ride.

I tend to just lie on my bed and do absolutely nothing. After a while I get some energy back and I'll start doing something.
Drawing is great for relaxing, and painting's even better. Unfortunately I'm not much good with the ol' paints. But I find that doing a really detailed painting that takes hours is a great way to relax and just let my mind wander.
Add some Lord of the Rings music, and all's well with the world. ;)
