I'm making a bid for occationally different trivia times.  Some people have consistant scheduals and can't make it on the usual Saturday time.  For me, it's right in the middle of a work shift.  As long as I hold this job, I will have to work on Saturdays through the afternoon.  If I happen to have a rare Saturday off, it's because I'm gone for the weekend.

It'd be nice if occationally, once a month maybe, trivia was held on a different bat day and a different bat time.  I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

Secondly, I wonder, are we going to have a Stargate SG-1 trivia anytime soon?  And if we do, is it going to be on a Saturday in the middle of my work day?  Cuz if it is, I suppose it's moot.

I have to tend to agree here, every saturday at noon is right inbetween my work shift too.  I understand that noon is the best time for those on outpost time and then those on UK time.  But a few hours less or more every once in a while would be kewl and somewhat convenience to us who work even if it gives us only a few minutes.

I would support a stargate Trivia, that be it SG1 or Atlantis.

Which is unfair =(

This topic's come up a good few times over the years, I believe... however, obviously, the Trivia times are subject to members of the time being around to host and assist events.

I am quite willing to give other times and days a shot, but the thing is: We need an audience. We can't exactly hold a Trivia event with only two of three participants, you know? But like I said, we can give it a shot.

What days and times would suit yis, then, if not 12 PST on Saturday? :? I'm open to - reliant on, in fact - suggestions! ;)

I'd say, make it sunday instead of saturday. The time should remain, as you'd lose the bunch of Europeans if it'd be changed to any time later than that.

Well, if you move trivia times often enough, you'll get a variaty of people attending, which is preferable than the same crowd every time who dominates because no one else is able to go.

Personally, Sundays and Mondays are perfect, any time of the day, other than that, evenings PST are preferable (sometime 1700 or later).

Plus, I don't think "Some of us want to go out in the evening" is a good reason not to do it in the evening.  At least you guys have a choice as to whether or not you go.  Some of us don't have that luxury but would really like to attend, even if it means sacrificing an evening out.

I think having it at all different times would be good.  Then you could weed out the sessions that have very few people attending and just go with the most popular sessions.  A trial by error approach.

Id say this, have them sundays one month, and saturdays the next month

Reasoning, it allows people to participate in more trivia events.

...........

While im here, a second suggestion ...

The trivia's are the most popular event at otf /o\ we all know that, but whynot, expand, i.e. have 2 trivias maybe 8 or 12 hours apart, on the same day, with diffferent questions but the same topic, therfore this gives people a CHOICE of which trivia to attend which is still based on their same favorite topic...

Okay then!

We'll sit it out this weekend, I think, to see how many people are around at various times on Sunday. And because we've already got the event organised for this weekend. ;)

How about we try Annie's suggestion of having an event on Sunday instead, but at the same time... and then the week after we can try a different time on a Sunday? I want to try and experiment as much as possible, but preferably without ending up having to cancel an event due to lack of audience... so taking things slow. That sound fair enough?

And XZ... it's a nice idea to be sure, but I'm afraid that Trivia title and rank numbers would go through the roof. :? Especially now that Trivia titles are tied into dossiers and all that. That's the problem I see with having two events per weekend - well, added to the fact that it's difficult enough to get two people available to host, nevermind four. *l*

Other suggestions, requests, comments, or ultimata? :? *g*

The trivia times are usually just fine for me...3 PM my time, well after Fishing, well before partying :D

All joking aside, if the times really must change, then sundays sound good, I think moving them to a weekday would be bad for everyone, seeing as I have school, and work, and social life :? It's a wonder I survive life at OTF as it is :D

Daveh, your idea is good...except, like Bria said, there would not only be a mass of trivia ranks, but also...We minions would walk away from a day at OTF sore fingered and weeping from all that work! :?

Anyway...that's my two cents...if only you could buy something with it :(

Okay so here's a wild idea....

How about splitting up an event. Instead of a single two-hour sit break it up into two one-hour blocks (or even four half-hour blocks).

Drawback : You will (most likely) need multiple hosts/slaves. But it probably will allow more people to have a go at the title. Additionally, some people might simply think that a full two-hour event is too long. After an hour people start loosing their focus. That could be prevented by splitting up an event into two halves.
