Hey. I know I don't chat in the rooms so some of ya might not know me but I post on the gossip boards. Anyways. There was plenty of exitement yesterday.
Had a police stand-off at my apartment complex!! wee!!
It all started at around 11am. A man I had never met...a nutball...who lived at the building behind me kicked his medical people (he'd had a stroke last year) out of his apartment. Well they noticed what seemed to be the makings of a pipe bomb so they called the cops.
The ATF, Bomb Squad, and Homeland Security were all there. At around 2pm they cut off the power to the buildings. I had some fun watching the whole thing from my neighbor's place above me. We had a bit of a block party watching the cops try to catch this guy for hours. There were news copters and vans all over the place!
There were 3 instances where they could have jumped the guy. 3 times he went out of his apartment (one time to get a cell phone to talk to the negotiators...but they shot at him with rubber bullets). They even got this robot that looked like Short Circuit and gave him the cell phone that way.
After they caught the guy and hauled him away in an ambulance they took out the pipe bombs (there was a big one and a small one) and set em up to detonate. I wanted to watch em explode but wasn't allowed to. They told us to evacuate the building...15 min later we heard a loud boom and they told us we could return.
Well a bunch of us went to the scene of the crime and we got to talk to the ATF guys and watched em clean up the scene. I even got to pet the bomb sniffing dog! The pipe bombs had shrapnel in em. So this guy really wanted to hurt someone. oi
So if any of ya turn on the news...just take a listen in to the goings on of good ole Lakewood, Washington. U just might see where I live!
