If I joined the 501st, I think I'd go for ARC Trooper armor, or Imperial Royal Guard armor and robes.

A friend of mine is in the Dutch Garrison of the 501st.
I actually joined in on a fund raiser with them once, as an imperial pilot. Fun stuff

The 501st legion is rare in some cases cause their outfits are different
