Being a fan myself, I know every other fan likes to answer this question, no matter how often it's been asked... Who is your favourite Doctor and who is your favourite companion? They should not necessarily have been a couple during the show, choose anyone you like. 
Mine is an official couple. As much as I love David Tennant, I still think the best Doctor was Christopher Eccleston (the 9th) and my favourite companion was... wait for it... exactly! Rose Tyler.
