Greetings! And welcome to the Game of Thrones section of our forums here at the wonderful Outpost. Firstly, on behalf of all who have worked on this room, I would like to thank you for visiting here, and hope you are looking forward to the King's Landing themed room. Now, the keen eyed among you may have noticed there is both a T.V. show and a book series. With an open forum this could raise some complications with spoilers, so I'd like to take a minute to address how to go about this, and make the forum a pleasant and safe place for all.
Many who have read both the books and watched the show are aware that the books and show do not go hand in hand and do not match up perfectly with details. Therefore, we have two ways to address spoilers.
For book spoilers, we can standardize this with abbreviations of the book titles, AGOT, ACOK, ASOS, AFFC, and ADWD. If you wish to talk about chapters from future books that have been released online, please make that clear as well. [Spoiler ADWD] or [ADWD] means that it has spoilers from within that book, and if you have not read to the very last page, you probably want to keep out until you get there.
For the television show, you can post [S1], [S2] (Season 1, Season 2). As season 3 goes along, it may be extra helpful to post which episode the spoilers come from in case we haven't seen it yet, like [Spoiler S3E2].
Most of us don't like reading a spoiler we weren't meant to read, but we all make mistakes sometimes. We would like for everyone to have fun and follow the rules, anybody seen violating spoiler policies will receive a friendly reminder, constant violations will result in further action being taken.
We hope this isn't too confusing, it should be simple enough and should everyone follow it this forum could be very successful. We thank you again for visiting, and hope you have a good time here, and please join in the discussion!
