So, Star Wars Celebration V has finally been announced. Well, it was announced before, but now we have exact dates and an exact location! It will be held August 12-15, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. This is the event that's being held for the 30th anniversary of Empire Strikes, meaning I have to be there. I guess this would be a good chance for those of you who didn't want to venture to Alaska in order to meet me to, well, meet me.

Full details are here: http://www.starwars.com/fans/events/c5announcement /index.html#rss

I maybe 'Retired' from this site, but I still have forum access!

I'm coming all the way from London, England to experience this Celebration V! I booked my hotel using the Expedia site in the UK (found it cheaper using that rather than the Celebration site) and got my 4 day ticket/notification the next day! I'll book my flights nearer the time!

I'll be in Orlando from 7th-21st August, so time to visit/re-visit the other main attractions (was here in 1998)!

Should be a great event!

Unfortunately that falls around the same time as Gencon which is just a twenty minute drive for me. Pity they stopped holding the Celebrations in Indianapolis.

I'd go if I had more money....but to be honest I'd rather go to San Diego Comic Con. Ah well...I'll be meeting Leonard Nimoy, Stan Lee, and Wil Wheaton at Emerald City Comic Con in a couple weeks.

So, Star Tours at both Disneyland and Disney World will be closing this year to give way for Star Tours 2. Before that happens, there will be "Last Tour to Endor" at Disney World during Star Wars Celebration V!

Details can be found here.

I found out about this on Friday, so I'm well up to date with everything that's going on!

Will book it up some time this week!

I understand you're a VIP ticket holder? I've got the Jedi Knight ticket!

Getting better all the time and 8 more guests announced today!

Nope, not a VIP ticket holder. Wasn't worth spending that much money on.

I decided to get it as I've come this far and don't particularly like queuing the length of times I've been hearing!

Someone's told me a fib in the chatroom about you being a VIP holder!

George Lucas will be at Celebration V!

The date and time isn't confirmed yet, but still, he's going to be there. And since I missed out on seeing him at Celebration III, I'll try to see him this time.

It's a really funny show. I managed to catch it at CIV. Star Wars Trilogy in 30 Minutes (which I haven't seen announced yet) was great as well.

Alright, so previously I announced that George Lucas is going to be appearing on stage at Celebration V. It gets better.

Jon Stewart of the Daily Show will be hosting the George Lucas event, and conducting an interview on stage!

The Droid Hunt was fun in the past, and I'm also looking forward to the Flash Mobs and Photo Scavenger Hunt.

Several updates I saw today:

Build a piece of Echo Base!

Tell you Star Wars story!

Also, according to his official website, David Prowse will not be appearing at Celebration V or any Lucasfilm events from here on. Bummer. Glad I met him at Celebration IV.
