Ya know what... I NEVER learned about the Canadians burning down the white house till after I graduated high school. It's just something that was never taught for some reason. *lol*

Trivia: I have 2 ancestors who died in the war of 1812 at the Battle of New Orleans.

So, to get things back on track:

Some changes take time. Some don't. Also, girls in real life trump internet communities. I can live with that.

As long as the girls in real life are coming for me too.

Yes but the War of 1812 ran from 1812 - 1814/1815 Officially the war ended in Dec 1814 but cuz the peace treaty was signed in Belgium nobody knew the war was over for months.

Yes, some changes take time. Lots and lots of time. And I most certainly trump OTF.

Although, I bet most of you never knew OTF quite often has problems. Problems that Iain and Ohm fix without ever telling a soul, and just keep chugging along. Yet, they still get whined at for not doing enough?

Oh, please.

Oh, and Char, I am feisty. ;-) Completely and totally.

Ask Iain.

I think that song is hilarious, but highly inaccurate.

1. It was British regular soldiers, not Canadian militias.

2. We might not have quite succeeded in invading Canada, but we did manage to get Ohio, parts of Indiana, and most of Michigan out of the deal.

3. After they burned D.C. a giant storm whipped up over Washington sending rain that put out the fires the British had set and sending tornadoes that only seemed to hit British troop positions. Clearly someone was rooting for us...

Yup, it was. We beat back the British and took a major port city after the peace treaty had been signed, 'cuz that's just how awesome America is.

And the "Blame Canada" song is accurate?

I already had someone tell me that it didn't count because we weren't officially called "Canada" yet - although at the time there was an upper Canada and a lower Canada, and the same people occupied the land when it officially became Canada.

One day, we'll give you Quebec (formerly a large part of upper and lower Canada). And then we'll laugh as we watch you slowly crumble from the inside. Muwahahahahahaha!

P.S. Iain and Brandi! You've already got your own thread down there, so stop bringing this awful flirtatious banter into this one! You're likely to make us all sick.

I'm allergic to Canadian history, so stop talking about that, because you're likely to make me sick!

Well...

"With their beady little eyes and flapping heads so full of lies."

I think everyone knows you can't trust a Canadian.

"With all that hockey hullaballoo, and that b***h Anner Murray too!"

You guys do love you some hockey, and I think we can all agree about Anne Murray.

Yes Cinna i have heard of Shania Twain. We do not live under a big rock in England. We do have some awareness of what is going on in the rest of the world. We just feel it is uncivilised and unimportant.
