Greetings OTF’ers,
Here is a listing of the Discussion Board Moderator duties. Since not one person, nor group of people, can be online 24/7 to look over each and every thread, post, and letter, I have devised a simple list below to delegate these duties. The Admirals, Quadrant Commander, Sector Commanders, ISA Directors, File Systems Manager, and any other Administrators, will have the ability to create polls and will be the ones to clean up the forums, move topics, edit threads,etc... These same people also have the capability to ban members should there be blatant forms of abuse of the Ikonboards. All forum complaints, issues with other members, and abuse of privileges MUST be reported to the Quadrant Commander, who is also the Conflict Resolution Director (formally Internal Affairs). The QC strongly suggests that all matters not be aired out in public via the chatrooms or discussion boards, and it is best that the issue(s) is(are) taken to another form of communication whether it be e-mail, instant messenger, or some other means in which the arguing parties may work out their differences like civilized people. There is a time in which the QC will be called upon to offer their services to mediate between the bickering parties should they not reach a compromise.
I reiterate that common sense and respect for others, respect for self, and responsibility in your actions is paramount not only in the chatrooms, but also on the Discussion Forums. Members that continue to act in a behavior that take away the fun and informative nature of the forums will be warned and banned if there is no improvement in their attitudes. Free speech is a wonderful benefit so please don’t abuse it as a means to harm others, and think before you post.
