Well,
Holidays is in the Intial stages of planning a themed day in the Outpost (thanks to a Suggestion from Riker1).
As we are in the Intial Stages of Devlopment, we would love your help. So any suggestions would be grand.
It could go along the lines of CowBoy Day or Mirror Universe Day perhaps even Babylon 5 or Farscape. Anything goes exect things which go against the PD's

ooh, wouldn't it be fun to have an, impersonateing someone else day? Probably illegal, but fun 
On a more serious note, how about a classic B movie day, I'm thinking The day the earth stood still, Invasion of the body snatchers type thing.

Last August 21st, we had an unofficial Hydra Day in the Cantina. Later on, we had a sort of Iain Day in Ten Forward, but a few rule-bound seniors shut us down before we could get into it.
I'd love to see something similar again, but I'm not sure something like that should be publicly scheduled. If something like that were to happen again, I'd think it would be, in the best form, a planned event from, say, Holidays, and executed by them without prior notification. Like stuff used to be!
Another suggestion came into the Suggestion Box awhile back that was unfortunately shot down -- Cookie Day. Honestly, I think we could use a benign holiday to celebrate one of the most delicious of sweets. If it was to be a large-scale phenomenon, one could go so far as to change out avatars; however, I do see the logistical problems in that. Thanks to Danny for the idea of Cookie Day, by the way. I do believe his promotion was due in part to that genius suggestion!
Junior Officer Day, where we celebrate CL4s, CL3s, and CL2s by showering them with fond armory messages, chat scripts of our favorite senior officers as junior officers, bar messages, and so on.
In addition, a failing I've noticed over the years in our Star Trek and Star Wars domains is that we don't celebrate or even recognize many of the important dates in those franchises. I was shocked when the first anniversary (and subsequent anniversaries) of DeForest Kelley's death was not even recognized in Ten Forward, even though he was by far one of the most visible and loved characters on film. I'd like to have Star Trek Day on September 8th, I believe, on the anniversary of the first episode of Star Trek. Then, whenever it is that Star Wars came out, have a day for that too!
Maybe we should have a contest for a day, with the winner's suggestion being put into action.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

I'm in favour of a Buffy or a Harry Potter day.
Also a dutchie day might be nice, since there's quite a few of us around.
Maybe a Pirates day.

We could have a Mythological God's and Goddesses Day to include of course The TreeHouse Goddess
Seriously, here's some ideas that can spawn fun and frivolity, celebrate the decades, the 60's Peace and Love could abound, decking OTF out in the tyedyed look of course. Avy's featuring stars of the 60's.
Any decade would be fun to celebrate (you could tie it all together nicely with simms or trivia or other games...)
Celebrate different Feature films, from different Genre's...other Sci-Fi of course, but also fantasy, musicals, dramas , horrors, mysteries, anything will fly.
We could also have a Myth's and Legends Day (seriously now, not joking) drawing on international myths and legends.
Ideas for theme days are plentiful.....
OH lets also have a Beach Day....will make everyone feel all tan and frisky *L* Wear your bathing suits and bring your swim gear.

After the death of Douglas Adams we were going to have an Adams weekend, but it fell by the wayside unfortunately. However, with the news that the Hitchhikers film is definitely on and is being cast, we should go ahead with a day devoted t the brilliance of Adams.
Can we also have a Doctor Who themed weekend? he world's longest-running sci fi show is making a comeback in 2005 and is growing once more in popularity. In Australia, the ABC has been showing Who from the first episode on and has picked up a lot of new fans. Plus of course there are now Doctor Who simms here.

I'd like to see us have themed days to do with the Outpost itself. Let's celebrate a day on the anniversary of the '99 Las Vegas Union or '01 Amsterdam Union. How about days to celebrate the Blue Lady, Guinan, Vic, or some of the other colorful characters we've created and been ruled by? I'd like to see some down home, earthy days about us.

How about a day(or even a whole month! ) where even the lower officers can have a personal avatar??? That would be nice for CL6 and belowers!
Or!! Superhero day!! Our avatars would be of superheroes like the TMNT or Sailor Scouts(mine would be Sailor Krypton of course *L*) or Justice League or X-men,ect! 
Or Anime Day/Week...our avatars would be of Anime characters.....like Sailor Moon or DBZ or Rurorni Kenshin or TMNT(there were a couple OAV anime shows that only aired in Japan ),ect??

Guilds have always had certain theme months which all the
Guilds observe.
April is Star Trek month
May is StarWars month
June is Dragon/Medieval Times Month
World Dragon Day is June 22nd
July is Sci-Fi month
August is Annual Anniversary
September is Anime/Comics/Manga
We do try however to keep the contests open so as not to deny anyone expression.

Hi, after an initial idea from Danny, may we, the Male Brethren of OTF, request a Bloke Day? A day when men can be men unfettered by the modern constraints thrust upon us! We want to be free to drink beer, watch sport, eat curry and pizza, belch and fart at will without being made to feel two feet tall for doing so and to indulge in blokei-sh pursuits.
The patron saint of our day is, naturally, Homer J. Simpson. Ithankyou.

Yeah
I vote for a Dr Who day and a Douglas Adams day.
How about 21 Sept celebrating the release of the orginal Star Wars on DVD!!!
How about a Tolkien day as well.
And how about having our own film awards, and not call them the oscars, but actually have all members able to vote on best film, best actor etc and then if we can find the websites e-mails we can mail those who win the award!
We can call it the OTF film awards!
I am only suggesting films as TV is too complicated since we cover so many countries!
Oh yeah a Bloke day, I suppose we should celebrate all those blokey type activties, they can even have a beer gut Contest.
