Greetings OTF members,
With the addition of Minas Tirith to OTF and the various ranks and titles therein, the ISA Executives and the Executive Council have agreed to remove Prime Directive #10 which states:
"Using a rank in your handle is not permitted under any circumstances. Special ranks will only appear as a rank if authorized by OTF Command.
The use of titles is permitted, as this does not interfere with the rank structure of OTF. Examples of ranks you may not use: Ensign, Lieutenant, Lieutenant Commander, Commander, Captain, Commodore, Admiral, etc.
Examples of titles you may use:
Lord, Queen, King, Duke, Duchess, Czaress, etc. "
If someone wants to login with a rank in their handle; please allow them to do so. It will look rather silly, so no need to ask them to change it.
Please be patient, as all documentation containing the Prime Directives will be modified to reflect this. If anyone has any questions, please e-mail me.
P.S. This does not mean that other PD's will be removed or modified. All members of Outpost10f.com agreed to the Prime Directives upon registering, so please adhere to that agreement as best you can. Thank you.

In my opinion . . .
having a rank system is incompatible with allowing ranks in handles. It's confusing! I don't see how you can have both. It's an either/or situation.

Well.... it's like.... the first word or two is the real rank... the second is the dream rank.... like I could be Lieutenant Admiral Lima and everyone would know I'm a Lieutenant who wishes she were an Admiral, for example...... then again I could be Lieutenant Commander Lima and no one would know the difference until I spoke...
Confusing, maybe, but fun nonetheless

Maybe everyone should be listed as their clearance level? Saying that, whenever I visit the CCC I like logging in as a smuggler.

Sounds like a good option.... With the mess we already got...
You got a smuggler, and you can determen your self what kind of smuggler. Or a rebel... and make it Lt intelligence, Romulan ambassador. Civlian Imperial Admiral CT... eh... well turn it into Imperial, choose a rank and you got your handle...
Would solve the great group of apprentices, and we will get stuck with tons of Jedi Masters.
More a custom rank idea. Where you choose your own profession inside your chatroom world.

I think we should make a new line for your CL number
Example:
CL: 5
Rank: Custom
Example two:
Rank: Costom/CL5
