Roundabouts are good. They go round and round, and some are magic.

That would be completely beside the point. Dollar Lane just doesn't have the same ring to it. :(

In England, we got lost in a roundabout, or nearly. Very confusing signs. :(

In defense of English road systems, you see, roundabouts are based on the circle. Knowledge of the circle comes with knowledge of the wheel, and they're working on that in that there land over the sea where Svenja lives. :(

Rumour has it that Shane (aka "Sonny Jim", "Pinky", etc etc) has laboured night and day on building this other "general all round annoyance" to JQS, but has had trouble getting the pi out the system. *sighs* :(

I find it amazing the number of cars who indicators fail to work on round abouts....actually fail to work at all.  The car companies should be pulled up about it! :v

In the land where Iain lives, on the other hand, they got so excited about the circles that they decided to create these circles everywhere they reasonable or unreasonably  could. Where possible, they created circles within these circles, too. :) They also get very excited about the signs, and even paint on the roads sometimes when the signs don't offer enough space for their novels.

Unfortunately, they didn't dedicate nearly as much effort to their communications facilities, and therefore are left in the belief that the world in general is still at the Stone Age stage. What a sad state of affairs, don't you agree? :(

Oh, and incidentally... I claim that the circle came before the wheel, not after it. :)

Bria (very much alive)

P.S.: Does anyone other than me see the significance of Iain referring to Shane as "Sonny"? :? :k

:D

Lies! Lies! Statistics! Grammar! :?

I claim that complex conjugates ... err, signs ... are the sine ... err, no ... of a complex society? I also feel compelled to point out that they will paint on the road anyway. Some theorise that this is because they tried to paint the wall, and missed, but I personally believe they we enjoy the aesthetic appeal of two parallel (or anti-parallel?) yellow stripes. :(

Communication here is also emphatically not bad. I mean, to write this post only took a few hours, due to being able to use modern (although not yet IWIC utilising) smoke signals - it's far faster than running, right? :(  *excuses himself briefly from the forums to leave a message in a more advanced hologram form - specifically, the Director of the Axis form*

Next you'll be claiming the dinosaur came before the chicken! :?

"Does anyone other than me see the significance of Iain referring to Shane as "Sonny"? :?" ... yes! No! A bit! IBH! :[

Hmmm :v The fact that I have yet to make my presence felt in this thread has worried me... especially considering it has reached it's 3rd page and I've not posted a word. :? :(

Nevertheless, what worries me more is that both Iain and Svenja are discussing ME!

To them I say this; Ooh-ee-ooh-ah-ah, ting tang, walla walla, bing bang

Thank you.

Because it's human nature to place blame on someone or something when they cannot explain a situation or problem in any other way. :(
