I have a DS, and as the PSP won't be released in Europe till September now, it's not something I'll be thinking of just yet.

Question: Which do you plan, or would prefer, to get?
Did you say were getting this for free? in that case I want both.

None of the new handhelds hold any promising games to be. Having played the DS its fun for a while... A short while. And having looked at the Psp line up there are no games that make me want to go out and buy it. perhaps metal gear acid should be more then just a stratergy. And unless they show some images of GTA: Psp i'm just going to sit back and wait.

PSP definately. Cos the multi applications it can perform appeals to me alot more than just hand held gaming.
right now, and down the line the PSP can do alot of thing besides just games. Things like a sat nav for your car etc in the near future. And right now you have the option for downloading movies and tv shows to play on it, plus the MP3 stuff. Alot of people are downloading novels in e-book form to read on it too. The PSP will definately benefit from the bit torrent craze, which accounts for over a third of the traffic on the net! DS can't do anything but play games, and from what i hear the novelty of its split/touch screen wears of pretty quick.

One complaint I do have about the DS *though I do love it* is that unless you play on a flat surface or prop it in your lap, it is rather uncomfortable to hold one handed. The way I hold it means I'm constantly wacking the R button *which means I'm taking sneaky shots during Another code: Two memories*.
Ho hum.

Yeah, since I'm poor I don't plan on getting either of them. But there's no option for "broke OTFer who needs to spend their money on other things".
