I hate summer...I really do...

It's not particularily hot but Im still uncomfortable at 21 degrees c...although it's quite muggy (god knows how Id cope in a country with actually hot weather). I also used to have ezcema and I find that really warm weather makes my legs itch like bejeezus

I have hayfever....the repeated sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes and generally stuffy headedness is not a whole barrel of fun, and of course I have to try and remember which hayfever tablets actually work for me (and I don't consider myself as a very badly affected by it).

I can't sleep at night  as
A) I have to have the window open and the duvet off. Which I hate. It also means  noise from cars and birds at oooh 4am?  Also means bugs through the window.
B)It's too light.  I like it to be pitch black

general increase in the bug population.

There's no point in me sunbathing as I don't actually tan.  Even if I did Im allergic to aftersun cream.

So bah humbug!

Bring me snow!

On the plus side I do like icecream.

Air Conditioning is a beautiful thing........which is on my top 10 reasons I can't move to the UK list. I'm a spoiled girl who keeps my house cool enough to sleep curled up in my blankets even in summer *L*

But all other joking aside...I think Summer sucks myself. However I'm not an overly nutz fan of winter either. Ok maybe I'm spoiled all the way around, as I just like the weather comfortable. Spring (wooohooo) and Autumn (wooohooo) are my two favorite, favorites!

But I love swimming, which I tend to only do in summer.
This year I'm pondering buying a tan...just to see what it's like for one summer of my life (as I can't tan either)

I also LOVE snow! :D

I don't mind the summer really. These past few days i have been getting up at like 3am and i love watching the sun come up first thing in the morning.

And when it is warm and sunny i actually end up being a reasonably nice person, lol, makes a welcome change from the grumpy me. But the sun makes me happy and smile and i dont mind getting up early in the morning. And i LOVE my bed. I do not get up early for anything or anyone. Well, maybe one person, but lets not go there...

Whereas when it is winter, and it is cold and raining outside i just don't feel like getting up and do not look forward to the day ahead. So yeah, w00t for summer.

And i know, i am supposed to be complaining about it seeing this is the "anti summer rant" but well, i just didn't have anything bad to say.

Be happy people. And remember, smile!  :D

Oh god, i am being waaaaaaaay too nice, i shall have to go and be really mean to someone now to make up for this  :k

I LOVE the summer. There isn't a thing that I don't love about the summer. The only thing I miss about winter is the snow, but I live in California so I don't see a lot of that where I am.

I love the hot weather. I love the cool pools. I love the watermelon. I love it being eighty degrees ALL night long and doing things near midnight with shorts on. I love summer dates and careless walking down the streets. I love the relaxation. I love playing tennis at night since it is still light at 9pm. I love waking up at 6am and running because it is warm enough and light enough to be awake. Camping, fishing, beaches, boardwalks, the smell of sunscreen, frozen yogurt, and everything else.

Man, thank goodness.... I am so tired of rain. I am ready for the sun!!!!

Hmm,

I don't like summer; I like the winter, though only if the heating is good!

Take today, I am back in Xian, the place where I am staying has something that gives me the inside and outside temperature.

It is 44.5 degree C outside and it is 26.9 inside, and yes that is with the AC running.

Now it is only going to worse here after all it is still June:?

I heard on the BBC that Shanghai has announced power rationing, and no doubt so will Xian, so I face possible very hot and horrible nights or days with no power.

Worse than that I know what I will be doing most of the summer, and it means being out in the heat and that is going to be a pain in the neck!!

Come back winter, I miss you already :(

Hong

PS why did I ever move to a country that was hotter than the UK?

I find this thread very funny.  You are all complaining about nice hot weather in summer and cool snowy weather in winter.  Try living in glasgow.  It's wet and never very hot in summer and wet and never very cold in winter.

I prefer the nice moderate winters.

I would just like to point out that 21C is by means hot. =P
Comfortable, yes. But not hot. Well, unless you're an ice cube. You're not an ice cube, are you?

Isn't temp all relative to your climatization?  At the end of fall, -10 is ice cold...at the end of winter, -10 is shorts and t-shirt snowball fights kind of weather...beginning of summer, 21 is deathly hot, at the end, 21 is a nice balmy day...

Thank you Pols :)

Eagle as far as Im aware it's never reached 30c here.....so it's all relative :P

I did point out that I couldnt cope in a genuinely hot country and also our winters are relatively mild as well.

i've been suffering alot with hay fever, and even had migraine attacks due to the hot humid weather we've had this week. But that's only in extremes.

Usualy i can manage with the hay fever, and i do feel it's a worthwhile trade off for all the things you can do in the summer. I really like admiring scenery in the summer months, the activities you can do, such as a good bike ride, or a nice walk, swimming in the sea. Can't beat it. :)

The main problem with the U.K is we often get humid conditions when it's hot. If you travel to places where you get a dry heat, it's alot more comfortable. I travelled on a camel across part of the Sahara desert, and i felt great ( dunno about the camel tho. ) . So, i suppose it depends on where you live.

What was it Peter Kay said old people say? Ooooh, i like it hot, but.... :P

Summer is ridiculous, there's a monster of a spider on my bedroom wall that would not be there if it were winter. Ergo I belive summer ought to be abolished. All in favour say SNOW!!

What snow means in Alberta:

Lots and lots of fun activities, skating, snowboarding, sledding, tubing, tobogganing, GTing, snowskateboarding (no bindings), crazycarpeting, saucers, boofing (jump off six foot snow drifts into 4 feet of snow and it sounds like "Boof!"), digging out forts and tunnels in six foot drifts, sliding on your boots, various kinds of skiing, lube, bobsledding, snow ball fights, skidos, quads, Christmas...all kinds of fun things.

What it also means:

Repeated face washes (rubbing someone's bare face in raw cold snow - it hurts).  Random clumps of snow dropped down your shirt or pants at any given moment.  Icy death on sidewalks, roads, and highways.  Black ice.  Blizzards.  Snowplows.  Up to 20 cars stuck all on the same three blocks of road.  Tow trucks.  Highway 2 gets closed frequently.  Jackknifing semis.  Up to 50 car pile ups.  When driving, you can't use your brights.  Doing 180's and 360's in your car at high speeds.  Runny noses and frozen boogers.  Your jeans freeze as stiff as a board after two minutes and it's hard to walk.  Colds.  Dangerous driving during day or night.  Whipping winds and swirling snow.  Bulky winter jackets.  Wind chill.  Skin freezing temperatures with five minutes or more exposure.  Frostbite.  Hypothermia.  Oh and, if you don't plug in your car, it won't start no matter how late you are.  And they never close the damn schools for any of it.  :o

I like summer.

Summer kicks so much butt!! Down with the snow! (Even if I've never experienced it. Georgia winters of 30-40 degrees F is cold enough for me!;) *l* And humidity!? Hah. Right now, for my part of Georgia, the weatherchannel.com says it's 82F feels like 90F and the humidity is 84%! Whoot? And, for London, it's 68F and feels like 68F with 73% humidity. So...yea! :P

But, no, down with winter!! The snow is way to cold to have any fun in. *loves being born and raised in the South US* HAH! =D

I looooooves no snow on the ground.  I love that I can run around outside in my bare feet.  I love t-shirts.  I hope it never frosts over again.

You know, there's a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon where Calvin says that if he was in charge they'd never see grass from Oct to May and everytime I read that I think to myself, "But...there isn't..."

Summer means tomatoes. Beautiful six-to eight foot tall plants and luscious, sun-warmed and vine-ripened fruits for snacks, sandwiches, and later in the season, sauces and finally drying the things when you have way too many of them.

But I'd live through ten months of summer just for those first couple of Brandywines...we had one for dinner last night...HEAVEN!
