New Year's Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. It's a time to reflect on the changes we want (or need) to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.

I'd strongly suggest avoiding the cliche' resolutions as well as the ones you know darn good and well you won't be keeping.

What about some unusual resolutions?
How about some fun resolutions?
Offer up ideas, suggestions and your own words of wisdom.
We can all use it, and Happy New Year.

Roll On 2006!!

*hugs*
~Kym

Oh what's mine? Mine would be to have more fun and less bad moods. I'd also like to enjoy more kissing in 2006 *L*
Do you know in all honesty kissing is good for you, it's almost better than getting fit...it's scientifically proven to be very very good for you.
Please view the following proven reasons why kissing is GOOD for you :

1) It helps prevent tooth decay. (No really, google it and see :P)

2)It relieves tension.

3)You burn 10 calories for every 10 minutes of kissing! It helps you lose weight *L*

4)It slows the aging process (no seriously!!;)

5)It increases fitness levels!

6)It boosts your self - esteem :)

All valid reasons to make this my new years resolution! *L*

Well New years is just 26 hours 7 minutes away as I am writing this.

I do not have any resolutions but was thinking that I could lower my intake of pop and all that bad stuff, try eating a more healthier diet, away from junk food ( i know you guys its the best meal replacement) .  But eating too much junk food is bad (;)google it)

This year I will get my immune system back on track, by hook or by crook.  I'll work on reigning in my crazies, they're a little out of control right now.  I want a new stamp in my passport.  Reading more would be a good thing.  Lastly, I want to be more involved with issues I care about.

Oh! I love New Year's Resolutions.  Let's see....what should I do?

1) Go back to school and finish my degree.

2) Find a job that allows be to do work that I am passionate about, which I had until I saw some rather ugly aspects and decided to leave...sadly

3) Have more regular attendance at my gym

4) Spend more time with people I care about, and moreover, let them know that I care about them

5) Stop stalking Iain...and all those peep who I am stalking...(there are too many to name, the list keeps growing more and more every day...)

6) Stop bullying the senior officers

7) When invited to social functions and parties, stop finding excuses why I can't go and just attend...I have become too much of a recluse

Well, I never make these because I usually forget, intentionally or otherwise, or I lie.  But something Kim said up there reminded me of something that I have been striving for the in the past year and want to continue to do so this year.

I've decided proper self-esteem is bunk (no offense to Kimmers, I would not put down her desire to feel good about herself).  It means nothing to me to "feel" good about who I am, my feelings are easily swayed by the lies that I believe about myself.  My resolution for the New Year is to have a proper self-image.  I want to know who I am and being secure in that, live it.  Even if I feel crappy about myself one day, I want to be able to stop and think about who it is that I am and where my value comes from.  I want to live in the truth of who I am.

Without being "religious" or attempting to create a debate, the above has nothing to do with me and everything to do with God.

Basicly, I want to live in light of what I know.

My  New Years Resolution, is

1.  To not take Advil so often.  I have almost daily pain in my right foot from Tendonitis, and Arthritis in my big right toe. This is do to my job of cleaning homes. I need to suck up the pain sometimes.

2. To wear my orthapeditc shoes more often, so my foot gets stronger, and has less pain.

3. To do all I can, to loose the last 13lbs I need to loose, so my medical problems don't get worse, and give me any more problems. I will have lost 30lbs when I lose the 13lbs.

Jadz...

You smoke? I never pegged you for a smoker. Isn't it weird how on the internet even though you don't know someone you think you do?

I tend to think of smokers as quiet sorts of people. That's a strange generalization I know, I just get a mental image in my head of a smoker and bubbley doesn't fit that image. So quit *L* :)

I have made one new years resolution.
Not to make any new years resolution.

But serriously I am hoping 2006 is going to be a big year for me, I intend to have moved out of home by the end of june, I intend to go visit a few friends (including Brady) in July, and yeah.
These arent 'resolutions' as they dont really change me, and I tend to break my resolutions fairly early in the year, so these are facts. These are things I'm GOING to do.

I hope....

*corrects everyone*

TK is an EX smoker :) *so proud*

and if you really knew Teeks like I knew Teeks, my stereotype still applies. *nods*  She's smart, can be very quiet and intellectual, is bubbly around close friends sure, but not just anyone. She's practically a professor, professors definately fit the smoker stereotype I had stuck in my head *L* She can be very very serious, and I wonder how many thwapings I'll get for talking about her behind her back???? *LMAO*

I have a lot of plans for this year... but they aren't resolutions - they are plans. If I label them as resolutions, then the resolutions overrun... and then they are lost by February.

But I have made one resolution. Health/fitness. I want to cut out most of the unhealthy, non-foods that are in my diet. I want to make sure I eat every single meal, every single day, and have it actually be a meal. I will stop eating in front of any and all screens (computers, TVs) so that my body can actually slow down, and register that I have eaten a meal... more water, more tea, less coffee, fewer sodas (which I've pretty much accomplished already)... and I'm going to start working out, hopefully will also begin running when the weather improves or when my friends can find time to do a buddy thing with me.

So yeah. I want to lose all the weight I gained between April & July... I have already, since July, successfully lost about 10-15 pounds and kept them off. But I want to lose more. I want to be fit, and healthy, and have more self-confidence. Hey, if I can't be pretty, I might as well feel good about my body... and feel like I can keep up with my friends when we're running around, up and down stairs, swimming... you know?

This is one resolution that I will keep. You just watch. My goal is for losing 15 pounds by June. Six months for fifteen pounds - I think I can do it! (Maybe 20? ;))

Hmm

Okay I am slow in writing here, but hey!

Anyway a long time ago I made a resolution to not make any more and it has worked really well!

Seriously I used to and then by the 2nd of January I had forgotten what they were so it was all sort of pointless for me at least!

Anyway isn't amazing how Teeks seems to know when she is being talked about?

Christena...I would have not pegged you as a smoker either, and I only don't think about it now, cause I know you smoke.

It's a nasty expensive habit, you should quit *L*

And I really doubt your smoking has anything to do with your bubbliness. I'm bubbly and I don't smoke *L* :)

*hugs the smokers and non smokers* easy now kiddies, it's just my opinion...don't hate me :)

How did I do it?
The naughty answer would be to say, "I stopped", but that wouldn't be true. I was phasing out of smoking, but then my band had a gig and out of nervousness I smoked almost a whole pack... and was sick for three days. Haven't touched one since. :D

Right, a bit late, but I want to...

Stop smoking.
Go to the gym more often.
Lose some weight.
Live a more healthy life.
Pay more attention to my studies and less attention to boys.

What, everyone makes these resolutions! No matter that I don't smoke etc etc, because no one sticks to them anyway. I won't stick to them for a different reason, that's all. :k

Joking! Anyone who makes these resolutions and keeps 'em, more power to you! ;) I don't make these resolutions, because if I decide I want to do something, I just do it, no matter what I said on January 1st. :[
